It was love at the first rev
Hi All,
My name is Cristina (aka Crissy), Italian but have lived in Essex for the past 16+ years. Currently in the process of buying a 1994 WRX to use as a cheap rounaround for winter... I say cheap because my other car is an '06 Mazda RX8 which is rather high maintenance to say the least, but wonderful in so many ways except in snow and ice whereas the Subaru is just impeccable. I test drove the Impreza on Christmas Eve and I immediately fell in love with it and am already questioning my original decision of keeping it for 3 months or so thinking that perhaps the Scoob would be a better choice for a forthcoming drifiting practice day in the Spring... :D I look forward to the pleasures and hopefully no a***aches of Subaru ownership and also to having to re-adapt my driving style to a car with torque! :lol1: Off to reading all the FAQ sections of the forum and no doubt I'll be soon asking some questions about the best ways to look after a "classic" Impreza. All the best, Crissy |
Welcome along Crissy Always nice to have a "lady" join the club.Being an honourary Essex girlie we expect you to be blond and ask "intrestin" questions from time to time.glad you like the Scoob.:thumb:

Welcome to very slightly better economy :D
Unless its modded , in which case itll be more fragile than that RX8 Italian not that different to english ! I was speaking to mate whos just come back from japan ( again) 2000 character memory reqiured just to be able to read the ingredients on a can of food  |
Thank you all for the warm welcome!
The economy so far looks promising: 30 mpg (luxury), no need to premix and even the top tyres are cheap (by comparison)... :thumb: I am not quite sure to what extent it has been modded, the car comes with a box file full of dyno printouts, invoices and a 4 volume owners manual. <Essex Girl> That worries me slightly as I have just about figured out the engine with triangular things that go weeeeeee around an eccentric bit and now I have to re-learn about things that go up and down and bang... I know there's a whistle attached to the turbo (dump valve) and it has an extra dial in the cockpit (boost gauge) and a cooker timer to give the turbo a chance to calm down before I turn it off. :lol1: </Essex Girl> :norty: I am not aware of any other mods that would affect the performance other than slotted brake discs and a couple of cosmetic things. Hopefully it won't be too delicate apart from the little niggles that come with age. Anyway, 4 days to go... can't wait... |
a very warm welcome crissy
but the joys of classic ownership, on the cheap me thinks a big bump could be comming along hope not and you stay with us:) |

Welcome to Scoobynet Crissy.
Make sure you say "Hi" in the Essex section as you're a local. :) :thumb: Essex Scooby Crew - ScoobyNet |
Hello All,
^^^Quasi Modo: I was born and raised in Milano. :) ^^^Budgie: I hope I don't get any major problems from the car either, but I wouldn't be surprised if I did. Then again we have several classic cars at work a lot older than the Subaru and all they need is a bit of TLC every now and then but otherwise work perfectly well. You will be the first people to know if I do have any mishaps with the Impreza. :-D ^^^V555Mac: pics will follow as soon as I pick it up, although it looks a bit plain at the moment. I think I have a few locations worked out for the photo's ;-) ^^^SirFozzalot: I'll be right there! ^^^Everyone else: Thank you for your warm welcomes. :) I am glad I have a couple of busy days ahead as the wait is killing me right now... whenever the sun comes out I question my choice and go back to read the weather forecast for the next few days (sleet, snow and subfreezing temps) to remind myself that I really "need" it and I don't just fancy it... lol nearly time for Top Gear, wish you all a great evening! All the best, Crissy |

Can't see you having any 'major' issues, you seem to have your head screwed on and mention 'other classic cars at work' so would guess you are fairly well aware of what you are buying into;) >Derren Brown head on< I'm thinking 1985 VT750C Canadian Import :lol1::wonder:
