Oh bugger !!

Guess who misread the weight of the turkey :o

Glanced at the label when I picked it up from the butcher and misread it as 6.5LB when in fact it is 6.5 KG !! What a nobber

So there I was chilling out with loads of time to spare, merrily singing to crap xmas songs in the kitchen thinking 3 p.m is fine for when the future inlaws come over. Now we wont be eating until at least 5.30 to 6 p.m :brickwall

Oh well, I shall just have to entertain them with my witty jokes :)
Or failing that do my elephant impression ;):D

My sister in laws oven exploded so we've had to fry the roasties!

Tastes ok though as we're all a bit sloshed. ;)

Wife thawed the second crown 24hrs!!, today and got it ready for a

lunchtime meal, only to discover once thawed it only needs 1 and a half

hours to cook, not 3 (from frozen) lol.

still it was good :)

Well, I don't mean to brag but my turkey was splendid :smug: £17 reduced to a tenner yesterday tea-time, sage, bay, butter and quality smoked bacon under the skin, onion, celery and leak in the cavity. 2 3/4 hours, then left to stand whilst I did the veg. Roast tatties in duck fat, parsnips with honey, mustard, olive oil and lemon glaze, broc, cauli and carrot. The gravy was also sublime this year with the offal and lots of onion, celery, leaks and parsnip under the bird to soak the juices in with some Chardonnay and olive oil. And not forgetting the essential pigs in blankets

Kid in bed now and about to settle with my loved one with a wee dram and a good movie :D

Merry Christmas everybody :thumb:

Well disaster averted, they were all quite happy to wait and so ms swiss and I knocked up a lovely cinammon and apple/mincemeat flan in the meantime :)

sat down after 6 p.m in the end and I think everyone was quite impressed with the food :thumb:

Ate too much and had to sit down later feeling like a right porker :D
