I can remember when DFS had one shop ('the out if town store that saves you more') in Two Dales, and their sales came once a year.

Unfortunately the family who owned the firm spent money like every day was a sale: hence their selling out to Northern Upholstery...

And the guy that owns it now, Lord Somebody-or-other, "Generously" allows the warehouse and delivery guys to work 70+ hour weeks in the run up to Christmas, and pays them the princely sum of time and one third:mad:

There was an article in the news recently where Trading Standards (I think it was them) couldn't find any evidence of DFS sofas being sold at the non sale price. I thought there was a law against that?

Jamz3k 25 December 2009 02:31 PM

i'm sitting on my 2year old DFS sofa as we speak and i'd more than likely be just as comfortable sitting on wood bench with rusty nails. As for paying the extra for scotch guard and the guarantee if the sofa does get stained it will be sorted.....well thats worth about as much as this post!

dip yer bread ;)

I'm always staggered how they can sell a Sofa for £199, no interest to pay, no deposit, 100 years to pay it off ...... taking out the profit, retail, delivery, transport - the Sofa MUST have cost all of 50p to build!! :lol1:
