GC8 Clubman spec mono-tube suspension (gravel/forest)

Any suggestions, so far these are the prices i've had:

Proflex, 3 way, 55mm mono: 1880 per corner plus V.A.T

Avo, 3 way, 50mm mono: 2950 plus V.A.T

Leda only do a 1 way, twin tube kit which is 1200 plus V.A.T

I've tried to get in contact with Aurok Ltd for a quote on some Ohlins, but we're talking 3-4k there easily for a set.

Realistically the Avo is as much as i'm willing to spend unless there is a good reason, so what else should I be looking at?

172sport 21 December 2009 06:50 PM

AVO's dont have the best rep, I know some who only managed 1 stage before they started leaking bad......................

Was on a 205 gti though...

I have seen some Bilsteins for around the 1800 quid mark, but cant remember where.

Lennard 21 December 2009 07:57 PM

What model are they, all I can find is the PSS9/10?

172sport 21 December 2009 08:48 PM

I cant remember sorry, it was on some rally based site. They where pure motorsport, i.e. Tarmac spec.

Give GM Suspension Technology a call for the Ohlins.

Reiger are very good and well priced , I bought a car set of 4 coilovers , all 3 way adjustable for just under £3k , try Zoltan engineering for these , on my Impreza I have EXE-TC and they are awesome , came on the car , but are very expensive but very good

Captainfunbags 06 August 2015 01:49 PM

Thanks Ian I contacted Zoltan already and the price was way more than that so not sure what model you purchased ??

I will have a look over the weekend at what I can do Ohlins wise. What is your budget?

Captainfunbags 06 August 2015 02:15 PM

I was looking at those chaps this morning, bit of a leap of faith

I would class them as road and track.

That's the stage rally set up that shares very little with any of the other variants we offer. If you are looking for a little bit less without sacrificing quality, the R57 and R57i get the job done. But, the R57/R57i are more of a rallycross variant. It uses aluminum top and bottom mounts (though we could offer the steel versions to build a "budget" stage set up).

We love to do custom stuff, so nothing is out of reach. Colors, spring rates, camber/ caster plates, whatever.

Also, just to add, the GC8 is our foundation. We started with that platform, and it continues to be our best selling application with the GD close behind.
