just baught a wrx import on a n reg belive that the bottem end has gone how much is that likley to cost to fix or am i better to replace the engine thanks

okay thn shall look into that gotta check it is the bottom end thats gone on this 1 as i havnt checked it yet its rather nocky wen u rev it after a recent service

£2-3k to get garage to rebuild, cheaper of course if you can do it yourself ;) If going with 2nd hand engine be careful where you buy it from :(

The cheapest option would be a doner engine for a couple of hundred quid. The only problem will be you cannot guarentee the condition it's in.
If you can afford to spent around £2000 on an engine rebuild then that would be the best option, but is it worth spending that kind of money on a 14 year old cad unless your planning on mega power in the long run.

Check the crank pulley first. It might be that it's not as tight as it should be

hmmm okay im thinkin about puttin my engine out my l reg wrx in it as thats fine and the body work on the l reg 1 is **** and needs a full respray

Hi I got some bits off here being told was for newage as my bottom end went. Didn't end up using them as Paul from zen performance discovered they were from a classic so I got done.

So I now Have ACL race bearings, rods, oil pump and a crank if any help.
