just a quick one

guys

could you fit an alloy size 18x8 with an offset of et48 to a sti 5 or would it rub like hell?

not really looking to have to get the arches rolled etc. and the car would be running on coilovers.

is it possible? what tyre size would you need to go for?

any pointers would be great

cheers

ET48-53 is ok, the x8.... hmmm think you will have problems with the tyre width there, normally 215's are the widest you want, what are you planning on running?

Tony:)

sorry tony 'planning on running' i assue you mean make of alloy? if so a set of rota's

what tyre size would you need for a x8 rim

I run Rota Formula Mesh 18 x 8 with a 215/35/18 tyre on my classic. Providing the coilovers are stiff and you raise the ride height enough, you can get away without rolling the arches. I can't carry passengers in the back but they do look cool. You can't go for the slammed look with this size of wheel.

Should have added that my old knackered suspension, that was very low, cut the sidewalls of the tyres up if I hit a bump.

oh and the ET is 48.

might have to go back to the drawing board then

Will be fine with 215 tyres but will look and probably handle shyte with the stretch and ultimate rim damage. So many nice wheels in 7 or 7.5 why bother ? Loads of rotas to choose from if that's your brand.

This is 18x8 ET48 and I hate the stretch.:)
