Nasty Gluey Mess
Milsports Classic Impreza roof Vortex Generator £85s worth flew off at 100MPH and smashed into a million tiny bits the other day
After getting over the shock of loosing the cars hair style i relised i have to now get rid of these horrid sticky pads that the Vortex Generator has left behind... For sum reason the glue loved the cars paint but hated (with a passion) the ABS plastic.. Whats the best way to remove the foam pads without spending 6 and a half weeks picking them off tiny bit by tiny bit... The glue is easy i think "tar an glue remover" will work a treat but is it as simple as pouring it over the foam and hoping it soaks through to the glue...... cheers and merry christmas |
Warm the pads up with a hair dryer, dab on a generous amount, but without going mad, of T&G remover. Leave it to soak for a couple of mins and then rub at it with a microfibre cloth. Just repeat as needed. It will take a while I'm afraid.

i used a product called 'stickey stuff remover'

Glad I'm not the only one. I also used a hairdryer, was also advised that paint thinners will do a good job.
