Terminator Salvation

Eerrrr what is it about tiis film??? I just got the blueray version of this yesterday and thought I would watch it tonight. Unimpressed or what??? I turned it off after 1 hour. Nothing of the film grabbed my attention, plus there seems to be two story lines ??? Am I missing someting on this film ?? and how come Christian Bayle is te main actor when after 1 hour he had barely been in the film ??

greatgonzo 27 November 2009 08:38 PM

It doesn't surprise me mate I did the same with no. 3 .
Blueray how much :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: :eek:

EddScott 27 November 2009 08:44 PM

People slate 3 but its not a bad film IMO. Salvation was just bollax.

It felt like an extended version of Sarah Connor Chronicles.

corradoboy 27 November 2009 08:50 PM

A fairly reasonable action fillum, but a rubbish Terminator fillum. JC set the mark very high with the first two, and the last two directors have been way off that mark IMHO. It's not like the main storyline isn't even written for them either, freeing them up to simply concentrate on action set pieces. As for the soppy 'take mine' ending (trying not to spoil it for others) https://bestsmileys.com/puking/2.gif

I think the problem was that I tend to compare with 1&2 which where excellent and no.3 just didn't live up to my expectations.

Don't watch this one as I liked the 3rd one! This one should of been called a different title as it has nothing to do with the 1st three.

Jamz3k 27 November 2009 09:00 PM

I actually quite enjoyed it, haven't seen the 3rd thou as it just looked ****! If you turned off after an hour, you have missed the best bit in the whole film!

No it isn't as good as the first 2 but was it really ever going to be anyway?

stevebt 27 November 2009 09:05 PM

Jamz, I waited an hour for it to get good and it never did, I couldn't wait any more as I looked and there was still an hour left.

Luminous 27 November 2009 09:09 PM

Hmm, I thought it was OK tbh. But then I was not expecting much, and that can help.

Jamz3k 27 November 2009 09:10 PM

where you drinking when you watched it? If not, that is where you went wrong with this film:lol1:

I really don't think you can compare modern films to pre-2000 films as they are just not as good.

corradoboy 27 November 2009 09:22 PM

Here, here ! The mid 70's through to the mid 90's was the golden era for action/adventure/sci-fi movies. With the exception of Lord of the Rings, a couple of the new genre of war movies (Ryan, Blackhawk), and Gladiator, there hasn't been a great action film for many years. A few pretty good attempts, but nothing in the same league as Alien, Aliens, Bladerunner, Predator, T1 & 2, Die Hard 1 & 3, Jaws, Star Wars (orig trilogy), Indiana Jones (trilogy, let's forget the latest one), First Blood & Rambo FB Pt.2, Robocop etc etc

thesyn 27 November 2009 09:32 PM

Problem with all the big budget films is that the are not 18 and over cert. They need to recoup the investment so therefore need the biggest paying audience so mostly 12A.
I mean how do you convey the horror of a robot specifically designed to eliminate humans without showing a few getting blown away?

Jamz3k 27 November 2009 09:45 PM

you are on the ball Thesyn. Bring back cert.18 films.

salsa-king 27 November 2009 09:49 PM

is it a good film for surround sound and visual effect on bluRay?

Only without the Slut-bot. :norty:

TBH I haven't seen Salvation. Missed it when it was on at the Cinema. Was just going to buy it, but by the sounds of it, it isn't all that good.

Will rent it instead.

District 9! You're having a laugh :Whatever_ Started to watch this, then out came the remote and the fast-forward function was heavily used. Boring film or what? Between salvation and this, then salvation comes out better IMHO. Isn't there a Directors cut of Terminator Salvation? I know in the U.S this is due out in December. Maybe the blu-ray has this also why maybe you lost interest?

IB was boring .. real let down

AG was ok .. nothing compared to the likes of GF.

PE again .. ok .. nothing speical

D9 .. lol .. pile of ****e ...

subaruturbo_18 29 November 2009 03:27 PM

i thought salvatin was a good film. it wasn't on par with t1 & t2 but it never was going to be

its a new kind of film anyway as its post skynet war. the 3rd one was toss as it was just trying to be terminator 2 again.

I was thinking about action films after watching this. I agree with previous comments about there not being a decent action film since mid 90's. there has been a great load of thrillers with a bit of action (denzel washington anyone?) but no real guns blodd and 'blow **** up' action films. somebody needs to get a simple ish plot, (daughter stolen, something hijacked etcetc) and then someone to play an ex war vet or something to just cause havoc.
