Im talking underneath where your suspension is etc, i want to tidy mine up and paint them, doesnt have to be sprayed or anything just silver the same as the car!

i think i can bin the plastic stuff at the rear, jet wash away then clean and paint with some hammerite?

not sure on fronts though? what have you do, if anyone has done the fronts as i gather the plastic is a bit 'more' at the front.

i did the whole underside of the car, the fronts are a little more involved but def not impossible, just rusty screws to deal with , makes a job of it :)

Thank you, its not as concours looking in real life LOL, it was done with red lead and then white hammerite and a brush , but the main aim was to seal it from the road without haveing to use underseal , so im chuffed with the result, subframe and trailing arms were shot blasted and powder coated and all rebushed , madness really, prob spent twice the worth of the shell on the refurb and new bits, but it was a nice project. Completed on Tue past with an ESL remap from JGM :) icing on the cake

I've just done the whole underside of my car.
I haven't done the front yet, I start that this weekend but thought I'd show mine.
I haven't a clue what I'm going to do with wheel arch liners and all the plastics at the front yet. I'll think of something.

It was done with a brush just but it came out well, smooth enough and more than adequate for the underneath LOL

A good steam wash, wire brush attachment on an angle grinder , wiped with thinners , then two coats of red oxide primer and three coats of hammerite smooth white with a brush :)

Back breaking to do on axel stands as im sure Daz will confirm, but worth it i think

im gonna look at hiring a steam cleaner and see if i can do some of the underside with it too :) just go brighten it up when i do all my trailings arms, alloys arms etc.

Back breaking? That is a masterpiece of understatement lol

Every single aspect of mine was a pain in the arse. It would have all been so much easier with a Ramp and a transmission Jack.

One of those crawler things was a godsend however. Moving up and down the car whilst lying on my back with a spray gun would have been a whole lot harder without one.

Worth the hard work though!!

When you attempt the cleaning get hold of a gallon of autosmart tardis. After the initial steam clean let it dry and then spray the tardis on. Leave it to soak for a few mins and then steam clean again. Repeat until it's all clean. Shouldn't need to scrub that way :thumb:
