Steering Wheel Move
 
Hi
Because of my height (6ft 3in) i would like to move my steering wheel nearer
to me,so i can straighten my legs and get more comfortable.
I want to keep my airbag steering wheel i think its a momo wheel my car is a
hawkeye. any help with information to enable me to do this will be greatly appreciated,i would like to fit a spacer 30 to 50 mm

i have the same problem (6'4'') mine is a hawkeye
have moved my gear stick back with a short shifter which is good

just been reading about air bags am now going to change my wheel

Will be very, very difficult to do with the standard wheel. Would need to be properly designed and engineered given the nature of the airbag system, the probable need to extend the loom for it, need to make a spacer and probably an extension to the steering column shaft, and then convince your insurer that it's tidy etc etc.

The obvious and easy solution is to fit a racing wheel, you can then choose whatever you want and space it so it's exactly where you want. However before doing so you'll still need to run it past your insurance company given you'll be removing one of the car's main active safety systems.

my insurance company are ok with wheel change
