Hmm, did you know valve lift for intake and exhaust cams?
As i have v4 sti heads and would be nice to know if these heads have more aggressive cams. Really thanks! |

Doh, i know that the castings, valves, springs and buckets are the same, but maybe the cams are different... I've searched everywhere for this info but i've not fount it :(
I know that v4 sti cams have the following characteristics (i've measured them...): In lift : 8.50mm In dur : 260° (at 0.1mm, plus 0.20mm of play) Ex lift : 8.60mm In dur : 246° (at 0.1mm, plus 0.25mm of play) And that v4 wrx (italian) cams are : In lift : 8.40mm In dur : 256° (at 0.1mm, plus 0.20mm of play) Ex lift : 8.40mm In dur : 238° (at 0.1mm, plus 0.25mm of play) From what i've read, the v3 sti has the best cam profile avaible... |
I have heard that on more than one occasion, but have empirical data sorry

No not at all, that the version3 are more aggressive than the version4 cams.
Heard it a few times and even remember the head honcho of sti saying his favourite Impreza was a version 3 sti, because the cams were the best. Sorry though, I dont have anything concrete to back that up. ****Note, the post above should have said but don't have empirical data sorry*** Free bump for a great set of heads at a great price :thumb: |
I stand corrected then, price increase time ;)

In any case would be nice to find if really the v3 sti has a more aggressive cams :o It's quite easy to measure timings (a dial gauge and a protractor with the center hole enlarged are needed)... But it's quite time consuming :( In any case, are one of the best performing heads. |
Still available guys
