2.5 conversion ?
Can my 2003 uk sti be converted to a 2.5 with forged internals strong enough for 500bhp and what is the most economical route.
Or what are my options 2.1 or 2.3 ,i am after loads of torque at lower revs. This is all just looking into the future and what i may do the car. Cheers wayne |
2.3 is the one to go for really, there are inherent weaknesses in the 2.5 block that if the engine isnt built right it will fail, downside with the 2.3 is that its not cheap, and anyway, its not all about power, people want 500+ but you cant use it 99.999999% of the time anyway :lol1: so 400 is a far more useful and achievable figure ;) (and about 20k cheaper!)

already over 400 but i hear what your saying

I have a 2.5 running close to 500 and have loads of low down torque
be care full what you ask for as a road car having buckets of power low down requires a bit of extra driver skill to master and things quickly get out of control if you’re not concentrating - dare I say, the car is not as fun to drive on some of my favorite roads in comparison to when the car had less power, but I have a host of new roads ;) If I was doing it on a budget I would go for one of engine tuners 2.1 strokers and stick to 450 ish |

Thanks for the advice guys 2.1 sounds good probably work well with my MD321t.
