Where to get new brake pads fitted

My brake pads and maybe discs need changing before doing an MOT.

Was thinking to just take it direct to a dealership to get done as they can get my MOT done at the same time, how much should I expect to pay?

Would it be cheaper to go elsewhere? I'm based in London.

Was thinking about taking it to Mocom but don't know if they do MOTs

MOCOM dont directly do MOTs but im sure zak will know someone.

also change the Discs and pads yourself mate its a very very easy job

cheers

The dealers will have your pants down by your ankles if they supply the bits. ;)

Take a look at AZTEC PERFORMANCE ONLINE STORE - WHOLESALE PRICES DIRECT TO THE PUBLIC or give me a call on 01462 488244. Always have some great deals on :thumb:

As bob says mate pads are so easy to do :) but don't forget to use some copper slip on the rear of the pads to stop any squealing :thumb:

Dealer will charge you a fortune. You can upgrade for far less

How much is the would it cost to get front brakes and pads done at dealer?
What kind of saving would I make from taking it elsewhere?

Any suggestions, am in the London area.

agreed it too a mate of mine 45 mins to replace both callipers, discs and pads.

and steer clear of ebc ive got some atm but tbh a few hard stops and they have faded more than kylies music career.

Do you need a windback tool for the rears at all? I had no end of bother on my Clio 197 without one! If it's not required then I'll probably stick some red stuff on myself (without the swearing, cursing, stabbling myself with screwdrivers etc!!!)

Turbotits 19 November 2009 11:09 PM

Nope no windback tool needed< red stuff arnt the best to go for infact i wouldnt use ebc at all as there rubbish>

Look at bobs site a couple of post above. Performance friction are good as are mintex 1144's

Thanks for the advice.

So better for track day/fast road use then than EBC red or yellow stuff?
