Best classic set up

Now it's common knowledge that classics oversteer when pushed and many of us seem to opt for suspension upgrades to improve things in this dept.

My classic has the following simple mods;

Tein springs
Standard struts
Rear Whiteline 22 mm ARB on middle setting
Rear Whiteline droplinks
Falken FK452 tyres
Lazer alignment

With this set up I would expect a decent handling car but it's still tail happy and doesn't inspire confidence.
Is there anything glaringly obvious that should be improved?

do you mean understeered or oversteered?

Tail happy means oversteer

Oversteer

has it had a proper goemetry set up ie pitch and camber ? or just the wheels aligned ?

i have a similar set up on my car with front and rear rollbars, rear camber bolts and it's very very hard to get the back to step out.

i have a prodrive geometry set up.

First question would be...in what way did you expect a stiffer rear ARB to help this ?

This is my classic set up...

Whiteline ALK
Whiteline Steering Rack Bushes
Whiteline Heavy Duty Rear Mounts
Whiteline 24mm Rear ARB
Whiteline/Noltec Drop Links Front and Rear
Whiteline 22mm Front ARB
GTSpec type Subframe Support Bar
Whiteline Subframe Lock Bolts
Beatrush Diff Support/lock Brace
Subframe replacement Bushes
FET Rear Strut Bar
STI Front Strut Bar
Alignment

All you need to do as a slight adjustment without going expensive, is to set the rear ARB to hard and get a 22mm adj front on soft. :thumb:
