No offence to anyone here, but I haven't dated an English girl since I was 17. Having savoured the delights of most nationalities, I ended up marrrying a Polish girl.

OK, I live in a pretty depressed town in the chavvy north, BUT:

When I went away in summer, I had five weeks, almost, in France. During that time, I went to quite a few large towns and cities.

I DID see a few beggars on the streets of the cities, mostly Romany-looking types.

I DID NOT see:

One single woman/girl with humongous tattoos, tattooed shaved ankles etc
Any woman massively overweight.......the ones that were pear shaped were Brits:(
Any teenaged girls pushing pushchairs or carrying babies.
Any women dressed head to toe as Muslim.
Women dressed dirtily, ie: in scruffy, dirty clothes.
Teenagers hanging about on street corners.

Are British women ugly? Maybe, maybe not, but they sure as hell don't help themselves in the attractiveness stakes:rolleyes:

To be fair I think most british women start of okay in their teenage years, but by the time they reach their early 20's the years of bacardi breezers and kebabs have turned them into beasts.

There you go - London. The thing that strikes me about London from a visitor's point of view is that everyone appears to be foreign. It's like the Tower of Babel, hearing the hubbub of languages other than English all around you. :(

It's all a bit bias, to be honest. Its a dating site.

If there are more single beautiful people on their members list outside the UK, it simply means that there are more single people who are good looking. Not that there are more good looking people full stop.

All us brit's might have just been snatched up and in relationships rather than staying single and joining websites for vain people who assume they are gorgeous.

It's about more than just looks to me. I don't mind a beautiful man (my man's pretty nice looking) but..... I prefer people to have the whole package, and looks isn't necessarily anywhere near the top of the list.

Back to the article, yes 'some' brits are ugly, just like the rest of the world.

I have been lucky enough to travel the world and saying that British girls are unattractive compared to other nationalities is quite wrong and most unfair.

Some blokes prefer the look of eastern girls, they even go on holiday to Thailand if they can!, others prefer western style looks. As ever it is always in the eye of the beholder.

People are people the world over and girls can be pretty awful looking or mindbendingly attractive all over the world believe me. Some of those eastern girls can become quite the opposite as they get older too!

In actual fact, if you are looking for a partner, the most important bit is her character and personality. Looks fade with time of course, but the rest is what really matters in later life. Just the way they talk is a lot more vital than you might think too.

Erm, I think the post by Top Banana contained only quotes from the web site in question and not his opinions. I think you can tell that by the quotation marks in every statement. :)

I would tend to agree, there are more ugly people living in the UK; British lifestyle, and what is social acceptable is accountable for this trend IMO.

Our lifestyle is work 'til we drop, then spend teh rest of the time eating take aways and going on the lash. Or sponge 'til your fat/pregnant, eat/drink junk and just not be bothered about yourself so long as someone else does the hard work for you.

Controversial I know, but are those with low self worth more likely not to care in themselves? Same as those who are too overworked to take time out to keep their appearance and health in check?

I'm certain the number of people born ugly are no different to anywhere else. But its how we live and how we care for ourselves that makes us end up being ugly.

All I know is 20 years ago the only place where you could buy womens jeans with a waist size larger than 36" was in the USA. They didn't exist in the UK (they do now) I remember when I first visited the states and marveled (probably not the best word) at the size of women's jeans you could get. Whereas back home, if your arse was that fat, the only thing you could wear was a MooMoo. Does this mean obesity is more accepted in the UK now? I think so.

One of the comments on the Mail website which I where I read this article first on said that the site was Scandinavian so the people favoured those that looked like themselves, i.e. blonde/blue eyed. Anglo-saxon dullness isn't going to stand a chance, is it?

I have to say, when I was in Danmark a month or so back, I was amazed at just how many good looking and I mean REALLY good looking young ladies there were. It really was a different world. May be it was a case of 'the grass being greener blah blah blah', but it definitely stuck in my mind.

I do love my english girls (lucky as I married one) but I think their reputation is spoilt by our own media.

Just speculating; Maybe because the missus is even uglier, its cheaper than prostitutes, and also negates the need to establish any form of relationship. Not to forget the saying; Any hole's a goal (or gaol ;) ).

Or more likely; the lustful fantasy doesn't always have the criteria that the victim be attractive, as its more about the forceful dominance on a random individual.

And I'm going to Sweden on a business trip in just over a month :D

What really amazes me is the number of good looking Irish girls when all the men look like potatoes!

In fact, men were even less successful (only just). :lol1:

I reckon that people (both male and female) in other countries just make a lot more of an effort to look their best.


On the subject of good looking, I've just recently started watching "This morning". I don't actually like the show, but I think Holly Willoughby looks fantastic.

Having done a little traveling here and there it never ceases to shock me how ugly British women are compared to the vast majority of places I visit. In most former eastern block countries ugly women must be made to stay at home.
Once driving throught he outskirts of Amsterdam in the summer I nearly crashed through the distraction of stunning women in miniskirts on bicycles. Denmark is reportedly even better. We need more immigration not less so we can breed the ugly out of the women here.
