cat vs sport cat vs decat & Remap?

Alright chaps.

Just put my cat back on for MOT and the car drives totally different. Much more drivable off boost and much smoother. Engine also sounds much better! And zaust is alot quieter.

So will a remap with my 3" decat make it drive as well as with the cat on?

How much power with a sport cat take from a decat as im pushing the limit on the track noise limits as it is.

remap is due for wed 18th :D

sportscat will cost you about 5~8hp on your spec..

it should drive as good off boost once mapped with decat as it does with catted downpipe.

Do you notice a difference in spool rpm between the two?

Yes. Ive only gone for a quick drive so not took any readings. but feels like it spools about 500rpm sooner with the cat on. It feels sooo responsive lower down. Where as before it was more all or nothing making gear changes a bit jerky.

Ill be getting the decat back on before wednesday, didnt take too long to swap it over for mot.

is 3" decat DP all the way through best for my setup for the mapping or would i be better with some restriction i.e. 2.5? I currently have a 3" all the way through but can restrict it down to 2.5" at the bottom of the DP if that will be better...
