P1 prices

What's the latest on P1 prices? I might get another one next year. Looking on ebay there's a few good ones listed from £7-£8k but there seems to be no bids on any. Do they go for cheaper than this?

Ste RB5138 08 November 2009 09:50 PM

The cheapest I have seen them go for is 6k, but they are not in the best condition with well over 100k on the clock.
You have still got to pay 9 grand plus for a really good example imo.

Moley 08 November 2009 10:26 PM

As above, £9-£10k for a decent one really

doormatty 09 November 2009 12:22 AM

An 05 bugeye??

Lee_1075 09 November 2009 02:14 AM

As above really anywhere around 10k for well looked after example going up to and over 12k for lower mileage cars will full history etc.
Although i know that the nice white prototype P1 is up for grabs at an unbelievably low price for the car that it is.

A standard P1 would have no problems keeping up with a bugeye or a MY05 STi, which ever one you may have.

Unknown JDM model  :wonder:

scoobynutta555 09 November 2009 08:13 AM

I'd never pay anywhere near 10k for one and I paid £29,500 for a brand new one 8 years ago ;)

Cracking post there mate :D

There are some at £7K that look very good IMO. Mileage is quite high on some 90K odd but then there are many UK turbos with 100K that have faired very well.

IMO, if you want it to cherish and maybe as an investment you'll have to spend big to get a low mileage example. If you just want to drive it then I don't see what the problem is buying one with 90K on the clock is going to make. As long as the owners are low and its got good history.

SUBARU IMPREZA P1 BLUE 2001 LIMITED EDITION !!! on eBay (end time 10-Nov-09 19:57:05 GMT)

This one for example. Its got a day left at £7k with no bids. There is mention of a rebuild too. IF and its a big IF all the paperwork stands up and its a decent motor then that is a good buy as far as I'm concerned.

Just had a look on P1 forums and the white one is for sale - now that is worth the money!!!

scoobynutta555 09 November 2009 03:25 PM

I was offered the White one several years ago before I got the brand new blue p1. It was up for sale at £24k and had a lot of carbon fibre stuff on it, seems a lifetime ago! I'd be keeping it for the summer and selling on again. Around 7-8k seems to buy what seem ok cars with rebuilds. I don't really go for low mileage cars as it isn't the best indicator of condition. Think I'll get another one next year, been a while since I sold my last impreza.

EddScott 09 November 2009 05:22 PM

I have to be honest but I'm not really very keen on newages other than Hawkeyes. With £7-8K although the head would be saying newage (there would be a little voice saying BMW but I'd beat it with a stick :) ) I would rather stay classic and get a P1.

That does look a good buy :thumb:

I remember when I was looking in summer 06 you had to pay nearly double that for a good one.

Here is the reply from a few questions i asked.

hi,i bought the car from a mitsibushi main dealer an the mods were already carried out by the previous owner but was informed they ran it against an evo 9 fq 340 an they were neck an neck !!!. The engine was rebuilt by a subaru technician drafted in at the mitsibushi dealership and i have the reciepts for all the parts which were used and excludin the labour it cost nearly £6000, they had the car for six months!!. I can honestly say that on the rear bumper on the corner it has a scrape that somebody kindly left when i was shopping and of course they left their details!!! NOT,I am not a member of any club as the car was away for so long an i had only had it 3 months when it went wrong,i don't know which number it is but as it was registered in jan 2001 im guessin it was a later edition, the car is nearly 10 yrs old but as you can see from the pics it has been well looked after an finally it does have subaru service history and seeming as it was completley rebuilt its brand new and i have run it back in an done about 3000 miles im only sellin due to my kids gettin bigger an 2 door isn't practical but it does run very well an is like brand new. I hope that answers your questions for you.

For some reason he's got 330 power, i asked what backs this up. But we all no that the evo needs 60+ bhp to keep up with us don't we:lol1:

scoobynutta555 09 November 2009 10:00 PM

I looked at the advert and decided I wasn't interested simply because of the wheels and the dump valve.

doormatty 09 November 2009 10:55 PM

Dont think its a classic p1 lads sorry put my message across wrongly
i think its just prodrive pack thats on the car and thats what made it cost so much.

Ill ask him to post on here with some pics

Well i work with an insurnace company and i work very closely with the engineers and we had a nice p1 come in the other day which had 60000 on the clock and it was valued at 8000.00 grand 10 grand is a bit to much for one of these day unless it got about 30000 mile son ity and in mint condition

The P1 is having an ESCORT RS COSWORTH, crisis at the moment. I got shot of my ESCOS st (small turbo) a few years ago and could'nt get rid. I bought a BT model august 08 for 11.5k and after being harrased to death by a guy for it, i sold it on for 14.5k. Theres nothing else like it in the ford line up, even in the RS models, same can be said of the P1. Ok it may be a V5 under the skin, but i'm on my second one now, and after trying several type R's, i just found the P1 more special. It is after all EVO Magazines favourit Impreza of all time. And you do get exactly what you pay for. Prices are holding and creeping upwards for nice examples and will continue to do so.
