Major advice needed

To cut along story short my engine is knackered due to running low on oil by the other half. Its currently in the hands of a decent garage. The cheapest and quickest route was to source another wrx engine and swap it over and Id be back up and running. But trying to find somewere on the net and a trustworthy donor engine is hard so I came mrengine.net offering a totally reconditioned sti engine for £800 with the online discount. My wrx was a 93 early one standard 240bhp block and had full decat and remapped and was running just shy of 280bhp. Am I right in thinking the sti engine is 280-285bhp standard?, whilst its in the garage I was gonna add s/s tublar headers and a frount mount intercooler along with the induction kit and apexi ecu would I be seeing the 300bhp mark with this new setup and is this a good route to go down?

any advice greatful recieved thanks

Stick like to like engines, they save you so much aggro, anyway the wrx engine has the same rods, thats the weak spot, best to go for a rebuild tbh.

Tony:)
