2003 STi JDM

The last few months have been a bit up and down for me and my classic. After blowing a head gasket i was in full swing saving for a EJ257 conversion and was looking at about £6000 to £7000 for a drive in drive out.

In the mean time i pulled the engine and did the head gaskets myself to save more money but find my mind has changed and am rather going to save for a 2003 STI JDM. I have seen a few really good ones for around the £10000 mark.:p

What i am looking for is a 350bhp everyday car that is not going strip gearboxes, not rattle and not have to replace every sensor every other weekend.

Anyone got something like that on the site and would you like to share some info or tips with me please?

One of the best models available, according to those in the know on here !

So long as it's dual-scroll turbo'd....

dunx

I have had my 2003 JDM STi since new. It has been a superb car, I have been spoilt by it as I can't really beat it when I come to replace it.

You also really want the 'GL' model as that has the quick rack steering and DCCD Auto.

Touch wood not had any sensors fail yet.

Happy hunting, extremely good value at £10k!

How would you know if its twin scroll Dunx?

So far i have not seen any advertised as "GL" but i can bet it would be over the £10000 mark i was aiming for. Thanks for that though, i will look a bit harder.

The twin scrolls do not make the flat four rumble like previous scoobs due to the uppipe to the turbo being two pipes rather than one.

The twin scrolls have the red backlight dash which sweeps upon switching the ignition. Also, they should have the DCCD-A which previous single scroll models did not have.

Equal length headers take the flat four rumble away which the twin scroll turbo's have .Look for Vf37 written by electric pencil on the turbo then you will know it a twin scroll its not easy to see.You can't see the twin uppipe from above and clutch in to start them .Its says on the vin plate what model they are .I have 05 Jdm STI and its got Sti zl on it

I think all JDM cars you put the clutch in to start the car.

See, this is why i love this site. Thanks for the info guys. Could 350bhp be achieved just with a remap?

Exhaust, Filter and remap should do it.
