programming a key to work remote locking
 
as above .... any idea how to do this or how much its gonna set me back

What sort of "key" are you talking about, and on what car? If you're talking about a Sigma compatible key and an M30/S30 alarm, you can do it yourself.

If you're talking about a non-Sigma compatible Subaru key and a UK car, then you cant reprogram them to operate the Sigma RCL.

its a 52 plate wrx mate its a key that has 2 buttons on it for the remote locking if thats any good

That sounds like the non-Sigma type key, which means you're probably out of luck. Do you have the separate little one button alarm fob with the round battery housing on the back? If so, unless you want to pay extra for a Sigma compatible key from a main dealer, you're stuck as you are.

i have one of the round fobs from a previous classic i had , can i program that to the car ?
how much are we looking at for a sigma compatible key , the car only came with one key and i need another one anyways
