someone please put my mind at rest lol!

Guys

Ive got a 10k miles GB270 wagon. All atandard and as you will know it runs on the 18" black prodrive alloys and pirelli pzero's with prodrive suspension etc

OK, my problem is noise

To me, it sounds like tyre roar/noise. I have never had a subaru before, and compared to what i'm used to (sorry, its BMW's ) subs in general seem a little raw and not very smooth. Anyway all tyres have good tread, evenly worn in good nick. The noise is driving me mad though! its a groaning tyre sounding drone evident for say 20 -30mph and consistent above.

So will someone put my mind at rest and tell me if this tyre type noise is normal and expected? If it is i can accept it but just want to know if it is something more sinister.

Hope someone can help

Matt

If its any consolation i just purchased my first WRX a couple of days ago and one thing i noticed straight away was tire noise so unless we both got the same problem i would imagine its a common thing..

Wide, low profile tyres will make more road noise, though what make are fitted? (Pirelli??)

Tony:)

i had a lexus before my scoob, and even though it was brand new , the first thing i noticed was how raw it was in comparison to the lexus, (as you'd expect) i.e. the noise, transmission noise, tyre noise, harsh suspension, but all worth it.

guys

many thanks for all the replies - i know what you mean about being a little raw! I like it though; feels like you are actually DRIVING something

Can live with the tyre roar now i know its normal - just thought i'd get some feedback before ripping off to the dealers

thanks again

Matt
