BHP at flywheel

If my car is standard with 260bhp or at least 260ps, is this at the flywheel or the wheels?

I cant see it been at the wheels but i am sure someone on here can help me.

What are the losses by the time it gets to the wheels?

myblackwrx 29 October 2009 07:41 PM

Mine had about 200 bhp at the wheels

Mrfastbaz 29 October 2009 08:19 PM

ye if you have around 260 at the fly it probably about 200/205 at the wheels

N_Scooby 30 October 2009 02:43 PM

If you have a true 256bhp (260ps) then by my (dodgy) calculations that works out at 200 bhp at the wheels (worked out from my cars 303@fly and 237@wheels reading.)

This is what i thought. Do all car manufactures quote from the flywheel?
