Very very very intermittant oily smoke

My 04 blobeye has a bit of a smoking problem but only once its been sat stationary for a long(ish) time.

Example:
I was sat waiting for a friend, after a bit of a spirited drive, for about 5 mins when i noticed some smoke coming from the exhaust. Strange I thought, so i blipped the throttle an it smoked a wee bit harder then cleared and was fine. Another few minutes past (with me looking anxiously at the tail pipe) and it started to smoke again, so back i go to the throttle to see if it clears but this time it doesn't and quite a large amount of smoke billows out of the exhaust.
At this point i get scared and turn the car off and check my oil level which has dropped to the minimum level on the dipstick. My friend appears and luckily he has some 10/40W synthetic oil on him so i top my car up and head home with him following me to see if it smokes again.
It didn't smoke on the 2 mile ride home and according to my friend didn't smell like oil. Once home it sat stationary on my drive for a minute with the engine running and didn't smoke.

Any ideas?
The car is a 04 WRX with 92,000 miles on the clock, is there anything known to give way at this kind of mileage?

I'm hoping (if thats the right word) that it might be the oil seals on the turbo as this is fairly easy to get to and replace, rather than something bigger and more expensive in the engine itself.

It just seems strange that it only does it after its been stood running for a while.

Cheers

Chris

sounds like turbo oil seals.
