Aluminium finish R8??
 

I saw a R8 yesterday that seemed to have no paint! It seemed like just really shiney bare metal, ie aluminium. Is this an available finish or a custom job?

Just curious as I've never seen this finish before on a car

Probably a vinyl wrap.

I saw an SLK that had that look too. It was parked next to Bentley Continental GT that was matt black.

its wrap the car like wallpaper Singh , the yanks do it alot ,
seen a awesome matt carbon black E60 M5 on the m5board forum ,
it was stunning
