Not played there but if you get the chance check out Tiburon GC it's in the Naples area

Greg Norman designed and bloody awesome place

It's the oldest course in the area (1920s), but has been redesigned in the last ten years or so to improve some of the weaker holes. It's quite compact compared to a lot of modern courses, so easy to walk. I like it, especially if you are staying at the resort, because it is good value and a fair test.

Agree with Martin about Tiburon, two great courses and home of the annual Shark Shootout

The Ritz-Carlton there is fantastic too, much better than the one on the beach IMO. Some great deals to be had there at the moment too.

Pic of Tiburon :)

My crew and I played at the golf course in Washington DC until I accidentally got hold of it properly once when driving and the ball hit the winscreen of a car which was passing. All the traffic stopped and I melted away into the trees until it all went away again!

Oh yes-I was quick enough to hide so no one knew who did it! It was not a very attractive course though-just cheap!

Must have been cheap if a highway crossed a fairway, or am I missing something ;) :D

Are you staying at the Naples BH&GC and when are you going? :)

salsa-king 10 October 2009 11:30 PM

all being well, looking at staying there. not sure on best time to go, april or march?

Daryl 11 October 2009 12:27 AM

Middle of March onwards the average daily high will be about 30°C, so no worries about it being cold! Might get a bit more rain in April because of thunderstorms, but both are great months to go.
