Are the scoobyworld ones genuine CF or just fibreglass with CF effect?

scooby-tc 07 October 2009 09:50 PM

with a £200 difference between replica Newage spoilers and carbon ones id hope so.Besides the carbon one i have was lighter than the ironing board one i replaced it with

F1 CJE UK 07 October 2009 11:09 PM

Got it done at a local body shop, but scoobyworld can get them sprayed for you.

Stuart.

boulevard 08 October 2009 07:19 PM

I have seen they spray the ends, but thought £140 seemed abit steep for just 2 ends. might get one unsprayed.
thanks

Steve

I really like your car stu :thumb:

I considered a Scoobyworld spoiler when I was looking but they wouldn't fit it too so I went elsewhere.

They're just a direct replacement aren't they? About 15 mins with a basic socket set does the job. :thumb:

boulevard 09 October 2009 10:38 AM

They look to be a direct replacement. I have a lip spoiler on at the moment, so will need extra holes I believe so going to get a bodyshop to do mine.

If you have a boot lid with no holes sell it or trade with someone who wants one without holes. Lots people want a boot with no holes to go down the lip spoiler route. You may even end up a few quid in :thumb:

I was under the impression that the lid needed drilling :wonder: He didn't tell me otherwise when I phoned up.

would only need drilling if they're not a direct replacement. i know the ones that they used to supply were just a case of unbolt the old one and bolt the new one on.

Scooby_Stu_ 09 October 2009 02:33 PM

The scoobyworld ones are identical to STi spoilers, if you have a wrx you will need to drill some more holes.

gordie2282 09 October 2009 03:25 PM

Mine came with the car, apparently they came from Prodrive.

Mikkel 13 October 2009 09:23 PM

Gordie, is that a Spec D?

scoobyseller555 13 October 2009 09:33 PM

no its one of only 25 vehicles brought in by IM,sold as an Sti LTD,known as an A line in Japan. This was a UK vehicle supplied by me new(Ian Grieve Subaru)we did 4 in total,oh and its not a Prodrive spoiler as the customer bought it from Scoobyworld.

That's the wrong colour for an A-line. They only came in grey and as a JDm car as you said: Subaru Impreza WRX STI A-Line, HDTV : Nihon Car .com

The STi Ltd is the same car as the D but for the US market IIRC. The Spec D was the UK equivalent of the a-line and only in crystal grey, which is why I thought it was a Spec D. Looks like a Spec D to me if it is a UK car. If so, we have a list somewhere on here as there is only 300 of us :)

boulevard 14 October 2009 08:50 AM

I think it is an a-line (or UK equivalent) as I have one aswell. Lists as a spec-d for insurance, but Spec D came with a wrx style spoiler, mine came with a lip spoiler and black Brembos which I believe the spec D didnt.

Hmmm that's true.

I wonder if IM brought in some of the STI Ltd then intended for the US and sold them as UK cars.

It's not an A-line as they have the 2.0ltr twin scroll and as I said only came in the darker grey colour. Also, does your car have factory tints and black leather seats with STI embroided on them? The a-line does.

Anyway, apologies for the hijack :)

Like i have said this was an oddball that IM brought in,only 25,available in obsidian black, premium silver and urban grey, all 2007 MY,full leather, black brembos and black centre console with bright red hazard switch,a-line rear lip spoiler and silver lusteric alloys.NOT A SPEC D.
