speedo converter for a import

wanna take the 112mph limit off my sti 3, is it safe to install one without having it remapped. Im after the one which fits behined the speedo clock, also is there anything else i need to be aware of before fitting one?

many thanx den.

Yes it will be fine BUT the scoop is quite inefficent over the 100+ mph so, imo, unless you're tracking the car or have a fmic, there is little point in removing the limiter.

yea i do wanna start doing a few track days, iv heard the fmic is good on modded engines, but the only thing my engine has had done, is a dc sports induction pipe and a hks bov, will a fmic give me any power gains without a remap with the mods mentioned?

myblackwrx 04 October 2009 03:28 PM

possibly but as with all mods it would be better to get a remap which unfortunately means buying an aftermarket ecu.

so will a mph converter be ok with the standard sti tmic?

myblackwrx 04 October 2009 04:59 PM
