Hello

I would appreciate any responses as to what people have paid for this service plus the "bodywork treatment". The actual service differs from the 7.5k only in a "visual brake check". Sounds a bit dubious to me, and I cant see how this equates to an approx £50 increase in price, just for someone to say "your pads and disks are OK" http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/rolleyes.gif. Quotes I have been given for combined service/underseal are between £250 and £280. I wonder if I'm getting turned over http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/confused.gif

Thanks in advance

ernie,

The figures you have been quoted seem to be about the going rate. The 15,000 mile service is essentially the same as the 7,500 mile service except they spend another hour checking things (Not just brakes).

Mine needs doing in a month or so and I have been quoted £162.40 inc VAT for the service and £130.00 inc VAT for the body check.

Add the cost of another years road tax and it looks like next month is going to be pretty expensive....

Just had the 15,000 done (at 8,000 but 1 yr old http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif)

IIRC it was £160 plus or minus a tenner.

The body check would have been circa £75 + VAT, but I turned it down...the girl at Service Reception said the body check costs £10 for the materials and the rest is labour. I'll put 20 squids worth of Waxoyl on it in the spring methinks.

The "body check" is actually about 2-3 hours labour I think, and is essential if you want to keep your car's bodywork warranty. I had mine done, and there was obviously a lot of waxoyl or equivalent put into the door cavities, and the underbody.
Ernie - are you sure your pads/disks are okay?

some of these prices seem a bit steep !

my 7.5 service was about £80 incl vat.

i'm expecting the 15k incl body check to be no more than £160 incl vat !!! i must check with my dealer.

my understanding is that the body check is compulsory if u value your warranty ?

Hi
I was quoted from £180 - £240 for the service, and between £80 and £180 for the body service.
Thankfully both the cheapest prices were from the same (main) dealer, so thats where its going on thursday!

I've just had the 15k service last Saturday. Took 2 hours, including new front pads :O and is cost £313.76

As with everything else to do with the Scoobie, I swallowed hard and coughed up the cash. Left the dealer pulled into the garage and spent almost another £45.00 filling up.

Ho hum. Needless to say 3 miles later I was smiling like a looney as usual.

Easy come easy go.

sounds about the right price. They used two tins of waxoyl on my scoob and it stank of wax for weeks. It's all over the engine compartment and inside the bonnet as well (sport doesn't have the Alum bonnet).

It keeps the body warranty which is no bad thing.
