WR1 Heads

Do WR1 use AVCS heads or normal heads?

scoobiewrx555 03 October 2009 11:46 PM

WR1's are essentially a 2.0L STi so they have AVCS.

Excellent thanks for that :)

Anyone know the specific name of the sensor/doodaa thing that is located on top of the gearbox that senses which gear you are in?

02 STi

Off-topic slightly? There isn't a sensor that "senses what gear you're in", but there is a neutral position switch. Is that what you meant?

I will contact the mapper - he mentioned today there is a slight issue with the AVCS in that the variable timing effect tails off occasionally in 3rd and 4th gear, but not 5th/6th.

I should have listened more lol - I'll pop an email off.

(sorry for the off topic)

The faulty NPS usually causes the AVCS to switch off, leaving you with a smooth powerless STI, (relatively...)
