Olympics 2016: decision day

6pm today.

Choices:

Chicago
Madrid
Rio de Janeiro
Tokyo

I have no idea about each bid, but the honourable choice is Rio, since no South American country has ever hosted the Olympics. The dishonourable choice would be Chicago, since the USA already ranks highest as the most chosen country for both the Summer and the Winter Olympics and has hosted the Summer event twice in relatively recent history (1984 & 1996).

It shouldn't be Madrid as the 2012 Games are in Europe (London)

I think Tokyo would be the fairest second choice, but in the same continent as the last one (Beijing).

I am sure we can count on the inscrutable IOC members to make the honourable choice and not be swayed by the mighty Dollar, aren't you??? ;)

So come on Rio de Janeiro!

Rio doesn't have the cash and never will do.

Chicago should piss it imo

Major FAIL

Based my comments on my knowledge of the city and the finances of the country. I have family in Rio, one of the poorest most violent cities in the world, really suprised they can afford this when 80% of the population live in abject poverty.

London won it last time so the Country's finances are clearly nothing to do with the decision making process ;).

It's a bloody dangerous place though !

and the people who benefit will be the rich and powerful with little money trickling down. Seems wrong for the choice, still China got it and their record on human rights is appauling so why not Rio...
