spoiler or no spoiler?

1 Attachment(s)
not really keen on my current wrx spoiler but finding it hard to decide and would like opinions what to do these are what im considering:

sti spoiler
smoothed black bootlid no spoiler
carbon fibre bootlid no spoiler
carbon fibre wing

Attachment 65676

the front grills are now black and also a black painted splitter

What about the risers which lift the original spoiler up. Like this in the middle....

Spoilerless looks awful IMO i think either a carbon S202 style wing or a carbon STi high spoiler is the best option but its your car and your decision should be based on what you think not what people on here think :thumb:

powerwrx 28 September 2009 03:24 PM

sti spoiler imo

Shaks-STI 28 September 2009 05:16 PM

sti spoiler mate

GMballistic 28 September 2009 06:41 PM

The larger spoilers can be a pain I find. It obscures a lot of your rear view which I find annoying TBH. I might be tempted by the "risers" that Mylesthegreat suggested if I where you. :thumb:

fmp 28 September 2009 08:45 PM

no spoiler, and some coilovers! :D

Coffin Dodger 30 September 2009 05:13 PM

Don't you just hate it when your poll appears on the front page of SNet and idiots just vote randomly from there without reading the actual thread ;) :D

nick172sport 30 September 2009 05:20 PM

sti spoiler mate

MrNoisy 01 October 2009 10:15 PM

Nah mate - the risers make it look cheap and naff.
Either an S202 style spoiler or a STI - latter IMHO is better.

Cd09 02 October 2009 12:34 AM

sti spoiler, it dont bother me as far as obstructions go, however rear tints are a pain in the arse at night.

The Grift 02 October 2009 02:57 PM

Gotta be the STI spoiler, rally lookalike even better, :-)

Flaps 02 October 2009 05:12 PM

I've been thinking the same thing for the last twelve months :lol1: I decided spoilerless looked good but only if you drop the car so low that I don't believe it would be drivable. I priced up the Seibon spoiler but I wasn't sure how carbon would look on a black car. When I phoned up I was told I would need some holes in the boot lid filling and respraying which would have added £200 to the cost. I ended up going for a Scoobyclinic rather expensive replica, justifying the extra cost over other suppliers because of the 'free' power run :) When I went for it fitting they wouldn't put me on the dyno. I washed the car and it leaked. When I went back (90 miles round trip) they still wouldn't put me on the dyno :Whatever_ So if I was buying again i'd suggest getting an STI spoiler, but not from Scoobyclinic! :lol1:

Before:

After, with a few extra mods too but you get the idea.

Sti for def mate !

ronin_hungary 03 October 2009 02:05 AM

STI spoiler.
But if you have the dough, go for the "bookshelf" by L'aunsport... :D

Cheers,

R.

already had an experience with scoobyclinic booked it in for full exhaust and free dyno run drove 80 miles to get there. the price increased by £100 from original price and yes you probably already guessed they did not do the free dyno run. imo they should either remove it off their site or actually do them

hughes741 03 October 2009 03:53 AM

think i am going to go for the sti spoiler if i can find a genuine one in blue. that pic of the ra r is tempting me though.

corradoboy 03 October 2009 05:14 AM

Subtle Scoobs look much cooler than chavy shout-out-loud ones with all the pink and gold, and exaggerated styling IMHO.

DamEscort 04 October 2009 10:23 AM

spoiler-less looks to 'chrysler neon' like for my liking.
STi wins hands down

petedotuk 04 October 2009 01:47 PM

a modded BMW e46 3 series spoiler looks well.
imo a roof vane looks helps without a bing spoiler.

j1m1z 30 January 2010 04:58 PM
