Spec'c'57 27 September 2009 02:49 PM

R34 GTR was in the last DVL auction.

Boyakasha 27 September 2009 03:06 PM

Didn't think there was such a car as an R35, is this like an STi 8, 9 10 11 12 ;)

PS Porsche looks sweet :D

yoza 27 September 2009 06:46 PM

Nice car, wrong colour, nice plate....well done.

I wouldnt be impressed if my car and number plate was flashed on a public BBS.

Maybe Im a bit paranoid.

paulwrxboro 27 September 2009 06:58 PM

i think he would be well happy...surley thats why you buy a flash plate ?

why wouldent you want yours on yoza ?...just outa intrest

yoza 27 September 2009 07:06 PM

Takes about 3 minutes to find where the car is registered too..............so if you want to steal one, you dont need to look very hard.

paulwrxboro 27 September 2009 07:30 PM

i dident know that....how do you find the info ?

chris singleton 27 September 2009 07:53 PM

I've never really understood people worrying about their plates being shown on t'internet.

You drive around all day with your plate on full display to the public, what's the difference?

i have to agree with you there
if you didnt want the plate known then dont park in belgravia
or leave it as a date related plate:freak3:

yoza 27 September 2009 08:27 PM

Your right, you do display your plate everyday, but the chances of driving past a 'rob to order' car thief are slimmer than displaying an image of a car and plate on a public forum.

What they tend to do is sit at home and browse the internet for exotic cars on their list.

Make/model/colour...name/home address....quick google 360, job done.

I know it happens, and I wont post my plates of any vehicle on the internet.

If you dont mind, good for you, advice is free, take it or leave it.

PS. Most of the time it isnt just the car they are looking for, its the lifestyle that goes with it, they may just use the car to get off with everything else your own....

Budgie 27 September 2009 08:38 PM

how do you know they do all this
are you one or do you know one
or are you the fuzz
i would find it easier to park near harrods for the day
and get shed loads of decent plates and cars to boot

If you did and passed it on your an accessory to the crime, if it happened, and would be prosecuted accordingly if found guilty.

Another problem with putting your car/plate on the internet is "car cloning".

Someone who wants to use a car with a false plate would ideally want an identical car as the plate donor.

Google said car....2 minutes later you have a donor, exact match.

Thousands of people recieve tickets/fines etc from cars that are not thiers.

Im not a Policeman, far from it, but I take security seriously.

I also know of a guy whos car had engine failure his warrenty was void because his car and plate were placed on a BBS showing him racing at a track day at Oulton Park.

There is more, much more, but I wouldnt divulge on a public BBS.

If your driving around in an old Golf, you need not worry.

Budgie 27 September 2009 09:02 PM

grow up mate
i dont drive an old golf
look me up
i will not be an accessory to a car crime, not my thing
as for cloning, my uncle had his megane scenic done
they dont clone supercars to avoid congestion charge fines
and if you drive on track with your road plate showing
you must be some sort of twit or not bothered

dpb 27 September 2009 09:28 PM

Probably corrupted by the geezer with the chav Bentley over the road :(

alloy 28 September 2009 09:44 AM

Nice plate, even better motor....but then i do have a small bias!

Tell us all your registration and we will see how much personal info we can post about you. ;)

hodgy0_2 28 September 2009 01:18 PM

never ever "got" the idea of private plates

the whole phrase is an oxymoron imo

if they really want privacy get a simple generic plate not AR5E H0L3

i saw a plate once on a Porsche that was so convoluted the poor idiot had to have tiny explanatory text below it – apparently it spelt his initials (sort of) and his birthday!!!

I would just about tolerate 355 GTS

Butkus 28 September 2009 04:18 PM

Nice car, but I don't like private plates.

I'd prefer the 997 Turbo in the background too!
