Rota wheels! New Scooby aggressive fitments now available & more coming soon!!

As we're one of the biggest Rota dealers outside of Rota themselves in the European market we're lucky to get kept in the loop with what's here and on the way!

In line with some of the attention the aggressive fit wheels threads have been getting I thought we should announce what we have available to us now and in the near future!

So for cool fitments in stock at the moment we've got...

Force 18x9 ET38 in 5x100 and ET30 5x114.3 - £785 for a set

Fighter 18x9.5 ET35 in 5x100 and 5x114.3 - £835

Grid 18x9.5 ET38 in 5x114.3 in matt bronze and white - £835

And on the water at the moment we've got the Grids in 18x9.5 ET38 5x100!

My personal favourite is the 18x9 ET38 Forces, I think they're the perfect fit. :)

bushiwarrior 25 September 2009 04:50 PM

do these prices include tyres?

Ben@Driftworks 25 September 2009 05:04 PM

No they don't but we can offer competitive quotes on packages with tyres. :) And obviously we offer the entire Rota range, I just thought these would be of most interest. :)

kp51 bad 30 September 2009 10:25 AM

Are those prices including vat, delivery etc?
The ones in the photo can you supply i gun metal or bronze?
What is the time scale for delivery from placement of order?

Ben@Driftworks 30 September 2009 11:23 AM

Bronze, white or black chrome in stock, 18x9 ET38 5x100. :)

Price includes VAT & delivery as a deal for Scoobynet, normally delivery is £15 extra.

Time scale is 2 working days, if you're in a rush I could do next working day but you'd have to pay the £15 delivery charge.

My car is an 04 blob eye, would the arche's need rolling or would i have to run extreme camber settings to fit the wheel's detailed in the photo.
What tyre profile would i require?

I am based in the Birmingham area ideally a trial fit would be great, what ya recon?

Hi Kev, it all depends on ride height and tyre size. Being a 38 offset you may be ok with running a 225/40/18. If you go seriously low then an arch roll or a bit more camber MAY be necessary. They're not an extreme fitment, so any work needed will be minor, and if you need to run a bit of extra camber it won't be insane amounts, improving handling rather than spoiling it!

dilbob 06 October 2009 09:51 AM

no grids in 17x9/9.5? if so a price please dont really want 18's has wont be able to use the slicks and wets i already have...

Ben@Driftworks 06 October 2009 10:13 AM

At the moment the wide 5x100s are just in 18s except for the Fighter, Grids are on their way but they'll be a while yet. Sorry :(

stevie1982 06 October 2009 12:57 PM

hi ben

i think the rota force alloys look great and i have a 2005 mk1 t25, would the arches need rolling to get them to fit or are they a direct fitiment?

also i obviously have the AST's fitted would they cause any rubbing etc. as they are a what 9"'s wide is that why the et si less to compensate for it.

and do you knwo if they effect the handling of the car with the different off set etc

cheers

steve

Are the GTR's available in 18x8.5, 18x9 or 18x9.5 in a 5x100 stud fitment? Or are there plans to launch them? I can only find the GTR's in 18x8, 5x100 stud and the spokes are just too flat-faced for my liking

,ive an 07 wrx hawkeye and have 18" 5x100 pcd fitted ,with 225/40/18
the only thing i had to do was move the mudflap over to the next hole so it sticks out inline with the tyre to stop it rubbing at full lock and it stop mire stone chips on the side of the doors,

just a a wee bit oh info ,go get them wheels there minted, mines are similar

The wider stance looks fantastic!
Fair play to the driftworks lads, great product!
I wish I had seem this before getting new wheels earlier this year!
For lads info 1.5 deg neg camber moves the top of the wheel in about 3/8 of an inch and will really help cure understeer!

keep me posted on the drifts ben, availabilty & price :)

I think Junior answered your question pretty well. :) But basically, direct fitment, you shouldn't have any problems with your coilovers. The reason for the lower offset is just the style of the wheel really! Lower offset just looks cool, fitting the arches nicely, and allows for a nice '3d' curved wheel design! 18x9 ET38 isn't an insane fitment, so handling wouldn't be negatively affected.

Any of the under 9j GTRs are the same, so it'd have to be 9j or above. I'd be very surprised if Rota launched a 5x100 GTR, the GTR is an old design now so tends to get less attention. The 18x9.5 5x100 Grid Drift that's on the way is what I'd suggest you look at, very similar design but 6 spokes instead of 5!

I'm really glad someone else has brought up the camber issue. :) I was DYING to say that actually a bit more camber on an Impreza can only be a good thing, they run such small amounts of neg camber on the front it's no wonder they have a reputation for understeer. As you say -1.5 camber would dramatically improve front end grip!!

Grid drifts?? 18x9.5 5x100s WILL be £835, and we'll make sure we update as soon as they're available. :) Around 5-6 weeks now. If you're really interested give us a call, I'll offer some discount for a pre-order.

stevie1982 09 October 2009 02:19 PM

this will may seem a silly question but how do i give it negitive camber? will i ned to buy anything else or just the rims

so the fitiment i need is ET30 5x114.3 for my 05 sti. and with this fitiment i will not need any arch rolling and it may or is advised to fi tthe front with 1.5 negitive camber? or do i need the 18x9 ET38 but pcd114.3 that you have put with the pic staying these are your fav

also ben do you have any pictures of the force in black fitted to a 05 sti, i have googled it and it almost looks like the gold ones really show off the depth and curve of the alloy were the black almost look straight. it may just be the pics that i can find as they are not as close up and more side on not the 3/4 view as you have shown.

cheers

steve

Hi Steve,

I'm 99% that the 18x9 ET30 will go on without any real extra aggro, 8mm should be fine. I'm just double checking it with a customer I have using them at the moment, as soon as I know what he had to do to fit them I'll confirm for 100% sure. :)

As for negative camber, either if your camber has adjustable topmounts, or with camber bolts on the strut. :)

I've got some pics of them on an Evo, but not an Impreza, so here they are for reference...

thanks ben

http://www.driftworks.co.uk/catalog/...ceimpreza2.jpg

but see how much deeper they look in gold compared to the black. the curves really stand out in gold must be the light refecting or something now choices black or gold ummmm

dilbob 09 October 2009 06:12 PM

still undecided...

Sweetcakes 09 October 2009 06:46 PM

Thanks for the advice, I will wait for the grids to come in the 9.5inch 5x100. What tyre would be recommended without being too stretched?

Ok, what offsets are you going to be able to offer? ideally id like the wheels tapered all round, i think budgie has et38 front and 30 rear on his newage

would you take a deposit similiar to group buy until they arrive? if so let me know whats the best deal you could do and deposit etc and we can take it from there....:thumb:

Ben@Driftworks 12 October 2009 03:42 PM

I can't I'm sorry, either pre-order or just wait until we announce they're here. :)

The Grids are coming in 5x100 18x9.5 ET38, so they'll be the concave spokes. :)

wrighty338 12 October 2009 08:38 PM

best do some homework on crazy offsets!

S3TH 15 October 2009 12:22 AM

Would you be able to run 235 tyres with the 18x9 ET38 Forces without any rubbing? Id be concerned that the rims would be vulnerable to kerbing with a 225 on a 9" wide rim?
