I installed office 2007 enterprise the weekend after a friend gave me the disk and it installed fine and let me download all the updates. The problem is now when i open word it comes up with this copy is not geniue.

Does this mean i can carry on using this copy or will it just stop working one day.

It did not do this at the beginning.

Thanks for the help

30 days

The serial was released to the public by MS so that ppl would use it rather than circumvent the activation process.

MS have now turned off the serial.

OpenOffice.org - The Free and Open Productivity Suite

every so often microsoft slip into the update schedule an item that checks your serial numbers (WGA) just check all your updates before you download them....... apparently.

oh and I agree with Blkknight - use openoffice instead.

If you apply updates then anything can happen. Microsoft can stop it working when it wants to...

If your copy is not legit and you need Microsoft Office, why not buy a copy?

or use open office.

Yes it's pretty much the same as MS office - and opens the new file extensions fine.

The only reason I see for not migrating is Outlook & Exchange. But I suppose there's always OWA.
