About to purchase a Magnex midsection for my decat front DP /
Magnex 6x4 BB, but wondering whether or not to go for the silenced option. Can anyone with experience say if it makes a big difference with regard to noise? I have a 5dr and it's noisy enough already.. I have also been thinking about getting a mid with a race cat, but they seem far too pricey....(PE's mid is GBP 429 incl VAT :o ) Any ideas on cheaper alternatives? Simen. Also looking for Sports Cat alternatives.
So Far have found : GGR Sports Cat Downpipe PE Sports Cat Mid (3 inch & 3 inch tapered to 2.5 inch) APS Sports Cat Downpipe (3 inch) Custom build - even more expensive than others See my thread in the wanted section http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/threa...threadid=76275 Any other recommendations please? |
I have a 4dr Impreza with a full Magnex (non-resonated CC) and its OK noisewise.
Why go for a Sports Cat in CC? Keep your exhaust clear of obstructions and come MOT time you can use the OEM CC. 5 min DIY job. Emmissions are OK provided you give it a good blast before. |
dmel - I know, and hate to admit it but my centre cat is gone ;)
Still want to change it as I don't think the empty chamber in my cc is good for neither airflow nor noise. Simen. |
On my wagon I have a SS DP, Magnex mid with resonator and WR Sport BB.
Don't find the noise too obtrusive except on motorways where the exhaust drones - I think this may be down to the backbox though, as it's did this already, but to a lesser extent, before I had DP and mid fitted. Wagons are more noisy but I would say the centre, which I added last, increased the noise a bit but less than the BB or DP. If you're already concerned about noise, get the resonated one.
