Sydney sand storm this morning - Life on Mars

A Massive sandstorm blew in overnight, biggest ever, looks like Mars

And I just happened to be in Melbourne for work  and we had 2 mini earthquakes last night, 3.0 and 3.4 on the Richter scale, didn't feel a thing lol

Just spoke to a colleague who flew in from SYD this morning and it's just like the pictures, suppossed toi be flying back this afternoon, I hope that dust doesn't knacker the engines and flaps

These have not been photo shopped

Very impressive!

Looks like the sort of thing that happens in Iraq (and presumably the rest of the Middle East). Probably quite a big clean-up job if you are not used to it.

However, i was surprised that the BBC didn't mention Climate Change in the article, but it did manage 100% bias (as usual) in the "SEE ALSO" section, namely::rolleyes:

Scarey stuff, wot with the weather causing earthquakes ;)

Not quite so impressive but we had similar in Joburg couple weeks ago - storms bringing weather off the indian ocean

Probably just a combination of hundreds of aussies having a barbie

Very unusual I'd say. I have been in the odd sandstorm in Libya and it was never as coloured as that. Must be a different kind of sand!

According to the news it is high in Iron this is what is making it have the red tinge

Just back, 6 hour delay in MEL, the storm moved up the east coast and crippled Newcastle Brisbane and Gold Coast airports, planes and crews displaced all over the joint.

Returned to find my Silver scoob is now Orange, looks quite nice in Orange :D

As Ritchiewong would say, "it's too Orangey for crows" !!
