Can I Claim the VAT back on Tea and Scones?

As title really.
Is my very sweet, yet hairy arsed trucker of a husband, allowed to stick the £4.30 for Fairtrade tea and Scone he was robbed by Westmoorland Motorway Services through the books.
We have been in business for 10 years and I haven't bothered before but what with the credit crunch and all every penny counts.
Yes, I could wait until Monday and ring the accountant for advice but I think this is the most creative way I have come up with yet for putting off doing the books.
So all comments welcome :)

yes providing he ate them and didnt make you wear them. Otherwise they would be classed as a gift and non tax deducatble ;-)

* I am not a tax official nor do I profess to know anything about anything.

Thank you Paul. The good news is the business is now 0.56p richer. The bad news I have to go back to work.
At least I now have a lovely image of a scone and Fairtrade tea bikini. ;)

well since the city boys have been putting nights out and strip clubs on their expenses for years, I think a cup of rosie lee and maybe a dunker is perfectly acceptable :thumb:
