back shocks / suspension

morning folks, this has no doubt been covered / answered a 1000 and 1 times.

i've got an MY03 WRX, just had its 60 000 KM servixe done, matey tells me that the back passenger side (Left hand drive) is rattling, needs replacing.
i've read on here that you can actually take them apart and re grease them, but i'm a cook.
matey tells me that he can do me Subru original replacements at 500€ a piece. plus fitting, or he has some slightly used, still in good nick that he can 'let me have' for 250€ for the 2 including fitting.

i know Finland is expensive, and it is probably cheaper to order the parts from the UK and will still be cheaper when the postage has been added.

i was planning on lowering the car a wee bit also.
so,
what are the best parts to replace with, in terms of bang for buck.
and 2nd, is matey taking the piss a little with his 500€ per piece. / 250€ for 2 fitted? (couldn't trust the actual condition of the 'slightly used)

cheers
Steve

I replaced mine with AST suspension from Powerstation after the 2nd set failed.

There's a group buy on suspension - BC coilovers I think? Buy those - don't bother with the Subaru stuff it'll only fail again. And yes this has been covered 1001 times! Save yourself the money you'd have spent on Subaru OEM shocks and become a full member - then you can search! :)

I agree with the above im starting to save my Pennines so I can get the BC;s

Did the same here.
My 03sti struts failed the 2nd time in 30k miles (knocking and sticking), so I saved up and fitted BC coilovers from the groupbuy and a rear whiteline arb from mocom.
All that with alignment has transformed the car and got rid of those nasty KYB/Subaru struts.

ok, thanks guys. struts in finland are massively expensive, as mentioned, probably cheaper to find an outlet here and get them shipped over. but i'd like to have few options. where is best place to buy, what price should i be looking at and what are the best brands. cheers
