Gonna get a dawes soon, when setting the boost level if I hit fuel cut what will I do to my engine? Is it safe to do a number of runs hitting fuel cut, slowly winding it back on each run until a maximum level, before fuel cut is achieved?

run it at its preset level and check boost.

hitting fuel cut is never going to be good for an engine, just as hitting your head against a wall will never do it much good:D:) with the latter, pain should stop you hitting it harder. you get the idea- fuel cut protects the engine but you're stressing it to its limits.

best results if you wind it back about 1psi when you hit fuel cut. the best advice i can give you is to monitor boost, EGT and AFR and wind it up slowly. also bear in mind that, with generating more heat, you must let it cool again before turning off.
oh, and, most importantly, enjoy:D
