Intake pipe, worth upgrading?

I am just about to purchase a VF28 for my MY99 to upgrade the standard TD04. I have the chance to purchase a P1 turbo intake pipe, to replace my current one. Now I want to know, is there any point?

Thanks again, Martin.

Are you talking about the pipe that runs between the flexi-hose from the MAF tube, under the inlet manifold and into the turbo? If so, there's likely to be no point at all, given that the P1, as standard, has exactly the same part as your own car.

If you're talking about the pipework that runs between the turbo compressor outlet and the intercooler, yes, that's definitely worth having, again assuming that your current one is the standard moulded plastic thing.

Thanks Splitpin, I think it is the one between the Maf tube and turbo, So I'll save some money! Interestingly, the other pipe you refer to, is this the one that can be replaced by a Samco or similar and is quite short?

The "other" one I was talking about is the Y-pipe Skooby. It can be replaced by an all-silicone Samco item, or the STi one, which has a short silicone elbow connecting into alloy branches.

Thank you Splitpin, I know which one you mean now. The one I have been offered is the other one so I will pass on that. Thanks for your advice:thumb:
