I have just moved down to Hertfordshire from Darlington, anyone out there live near Bishops Stortford?

I have seen a Terzo, a couple of silver cars and a P1 so far. Anyone else?

Hi. I live in Elsenham, just outside Bishops Stortford. Mine's a red 5 door MY99. I'll keep an eye out for you.

Dave T-S 13 February 2001 09:29 PM

Just east of Saffron Walden - 2xUK MYOO (saves arguments, one each http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif)

One DBM, one green.

Both:
Full SS exhaust from turbo back
ITG panel filter
Prodrive OZ P1 gold 10 spoke wheels
STI5 rear wing

There's a P1 in Saffron Walden and a DBM saloon in the next village.

We should have a local meet!!?? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Cheers for your replies guys, I like Daves idea to have a local meet. If you are interested I will set something up.

See ya later,

Mickey

PS Your lists of accessories and add-ons has made me want to invest some cash on goodies.

carl 14 February 2001 01:08 PM

Think I may have recently seen you in Stortford. I thought 'Sonic Blue -- P1, oh no it's got four doors, EU import'.

Carl
Silver MY00 (EU import)
Do a lot of miles, so front is often black.

(Re: local meet. I am reliably informed that the 'new look' Coach & Horses on Thorley Street looks good, and it used to have a big car park pre-building work, so hopefully still has. I think it opens either this weekend or next.)

Bet you were having one of THOSE conversations in the car again.....and I bet the Porsche is a Boxster - the car for the man that can't afford a real Porsche.....

PS - used the M11 south last Sat morning - the roadworks - what a fiasco! - then, glutton for punishmant, the A505 tween Royston and Baldock on Sat afternoon - two lanes down to one, 30mph limit, BIGGER fiasco!!

GMAY 14 February 2001 01:49 PM

Welcome MickeyG,

I'm up for a trip down to Stortford (from Cambridge). I went to the Coach and Horses last summer for a meet (remember it RobW?)- the car park was big, but the pub itself was in need of refurbishment. Sounds like it could be the ideal place for a meet.

Grahame

carl 14 February 2001 01:52 PM

In case it wasn't obvious from my previous post, it's being refurbished as we speak http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Yes Grahame I remember it well! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/rolleyes.gif
It's in a good location and had loads of parking, I'm up for it but not for a few weeks as I've injured my foot at work, so no driving for a while http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif

Rob

Rob - injured foot - did ya drop your wallet on it mate??? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

PS - should have kept quiet about the train - subsidence at Broxbourne - 4 cars insted of 8 - three extra stops - had to stand to Broxbourne for 45 mins - 30 mins late home (again) - WAGN really couldn't organise a pissup in a public toilet http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/mad.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/mad.gif

Hello Mickey, I work in Great Dunmow, so only 10 mins away.

Phil Hammond 15 February 2001 12:49 AM

The B158 used to be fun but now suffers from the same fate as the main rail line - flooding!!
Wasn't coming home from Liverpool Street fun last night - NOT !!

JohnH#2 15 February 2001 12:58 AM

Busy at work then Phil?

John (brother) Hammond - P1 Hertford. Also extremely ammused by our so called rail system!

CraigH your not allowed to mention that road...it's not the B158 it's something else and it's not one of the best bits of tarmac around OK......

Andrew O'Hara 15 February 2001 01:04 PM

Oh what joy the 19:00 stansted express was night...ho hum...its still cheaper than driving the scoob into the city http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

The 18:00 Stansted Express was only four cars.....and three extra stops..... http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/mad.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/mad.gif

And this morning - just under 3 hours door to door.........

Work is OK - it's damn commuting on WAGN trains - the so-called prestige airport service - that stresses me!!!!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/mad.gif

If you get carved up by a green MY00 saloon driven by a blond girlie going through Dunmow morning or evening - it's me missus!!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

church_monster 15 February 2001 01:49 PM

One for Dave TS - -

If you get stuck in the roadworks on the a505 again going to Baldock (incidentally where I live look out for the w reg blue prodrive or t reg silver rb5 outside the Goldcrest....) not too far from stortford either...Take the first left for Kelshall, follow through to sandon, then wallington and after that you'll come out in Baldock (excellent B roads for testing the car as well (+ enough width for you and a tractor !!)

MickeyG 15 February 2001 02:44 PM

Looks like we may be on for a meet. Carl - I will have a look into the Coach and Horses (when it opens), and check that the Landlord is agreeable etc..

I'm not sure how these things work (now starting to regret the "I'll set something up" statement now that my bluff appears to have been called) - I assume people turn up at a pub and look at each others cars, talk about Scoobs, sink a couple of soft drinks etc.. or do people go for a drive around?

I'm happy to arrange either - What are your views?

I will stick a new post when I have made some arrangements. See you all there.

CM
I know the road you mean fairly well - I used to work for a mate in Hitchin (Lilley)at weekends and took the back road from Saffron Walden via Wenden to Royston then sometimes a variety of the side roads off the A505 to miss the tailbacks at Baldock - you know exactly what I mean!!!

Actually we were ok in the roadworks Saturday - I was head of the queue doing exactly 30mph in the 30 limited part and had a nice rolling roadblock behind us tailing back for miles - some people can't wait to have their picture taken for free!!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Rob W 15 February 2001 08:25 PM

Mickey sounds cool! That venue would be fine, how about a months time? will the pub be open by then? Sat or Sun should be cool with me.

Rob
