Keith Michaels Quotes

Hi folks

PLEASE ALWAYS PUT 'SCOOBYNET' AS A REFERENCE WHEN REQUESTING A QUOTE

Please be aware that if you request an internet quote via the Keith Michaels website it may not be done by me unless you state on the form you got our details from 'SCOOBYNET'

If you don't put Scoobynet, then ring for a quote you'll have to be put through to the guy who processed the quote, NOT myself (even if you ask for me)

If you do need a phone quote please call 0208 3291150 and ask for Gary Moulson

You can pm me on here, but be aware i get alot of pm's, and can't get back to everyone

Many thanks

Gary :thumb:

Moley 26 December 2009 06:50 PM

We seem to still be getting lots of internet quotes from Scoobynet members, and from Jan we are taking on a new member of staff who will be doing the internet quotes, so please be aware if you do request an internet quote it WON'T be done by me.... and if you do ring us afterwards you'll be put through to the person who did the quote.... not me.

Please be aware

Thanks

Gary

Because most of the 40+ insurers we use ask for claims and convictions in the last 5 years, as do lots of others in the insurance industry

stevemoir 16 January 2010 04:47 PM

oh soz i thought you were an independant insurer not a broker my bad

This may stop them ...
The website is not secure.

As I'm in I.T this is a personal gripe on lazy website design that can let a hacker view all the personal data you are fillling in, it should be secure. I have found very big companies guilty of this and have brought it to their attention.

The pop up box you fill your details in has a Http:// address not a Https:// The 's' is for secure (encrypted connection). You should also get a padlock at the bottom of the screen. But as it's a pop up without borders and address bar (a trick many sites who can't be bothered to secure them use).
It doesn't cost anything to run, just the time to set it up. It's not too difficult, I've made a secure webserver from my home over broadband.

The address of the pop up form is:
http://www.keithmichaels.co.uk/quote/

I just decided to try something and found there is a secure form.

https://www.keithmichaels.co.uk/quote/

But I got this message...
The site's security certificate has expired!
You attempted to reach www.keithmichaels.co.uk, but the server presented an expired certificate. No information is available to indicate whether that certificate has been compromised since its expiry. This means that Google Chrome cannot guarantee that you are communicating with www.keithmichaels.co.uk and not an attacker. You should not proceed.

Can you inform them and get it fixed please.

I need a quote for a Legacy GTB 1996 but your closed Saturdays.

Moley 05 March 2010 08:51 PM

Thanks, will pass on the info on Monday when i am back in.

Hi Gary,

How is your PM list looking? I PM'd you a few days ago about getting my renewal quote in before my policy expires at the start of April.
Only got it a few days before last year.

Cheers

So what does this mean? If you have already done an internet quote - because you've clicked on the massive 'get a quote' button, that you can't get the best price/service??

zip106 01 May 2010 10:06 PM

There's a thing!
If I'd have known you worked for KM I'd have pm'd you first.
As it is, your colleague Jeremy Pocock has sorted me a quote for my Porsche with Groupama.
Hope it's a good 'un! ;)

The Rig 14 June 2010 07:26 PM

well, i tried to get holed of Gary but alas, i couldnt,so got a good quote from A Plan and then spoke to another colleague at Keith micheals and they better`d it by about £30 so not too bad

i couldnt keep waiting to speak to gary at KM so just went with whoever answered the phone there

Gordo 21 July 2010 11:44 AM

I'm another who couldn't get hold of Gary - called and left message, emailed, confirmed with his colleagues that he's there etc - waste of time and, frankly, insulting.

I wouldn't put my business with Keith Michaels - if that's indicative of the service (for new business), then I wouldn't trust them to ever help in a claim situation. A-Plan may not be the absolute cheapest, but their service is magnificent.

I don't deal with claims - we have a seperate claim department, so not really a valid point.

We are very short staffed at the moment, so are rushed off our feet.

We are looking at taking on more staff to help with the situation, and are awaiting those who are off sick to return, in the mean time i'd ask people to bear with us.

Not even an apology for not getting in touch???

A-Plan came good and are fantastic to deal with. I'm really not sure why you have a sticky on the top here.....

Gordo

That sticky is about internet quotes if you read it.... trying to give advise to help.

FWIW i didn't request it to be a sticky, the mods made it a sticky ;)

And no.... no apology.... but you would have got one if you hadn't written such a snotty reply.

Mikej857 23 July 2010 12:09 AM

I tried to get a quote from Keith Michaels, filled in the request form with all my details and never received a single call.

I ended up going with another company

my reply was factually correct, not snotty.

1. you did not respond to a phone message I left you on Monday
2. you ignored an email offering you some new business on Tuesday
3. I (correctly) raised a concern about standards of service in your business - other posters on here are saying the same things, including concerns about service once they are a customer.

Nothing snotty in all of that. How you run your business is up to you - just don't be surprised that people take their business elsewhere.

The sticky basically says you're away on holiday - makes no difference as far as I can tell - MODS CAN YOU REMOVE IT PLEASE.

NO IT DOESN'T! The sticky is about Keith Michaels internet quotes.

The post about be being on holiday is just a normal thread, not a sticky at all.

Only 1 person has complained about the service he has had, and that was regarding Jeremy, who would actually appear to have done nothing wrong.
(the NCB HAD been ordered from the company, and he was advised as to why he had to wait for the cheque)

Mikej857 24 July 2010 08:34 PM

Sorry Gary Ive obviously seen this after I took out the new policy, I honestly couldnt believe that my policy has doubled from last year and in the end it was only a few pounds between 10 different companies

RS_Matt 20 September 2010 11:48 AM

KM would make a lot of money if they had 2 Subaru specialists...

scooby_al 20 September 2010 04:24 PM

Hi, been trying all morning, your a busy man to get hold of! If you can pm me,or give me a direct dial to call. Thanks ALex D.

scooby-tc 20 September 2010 04:32 PM

I have never once failed to get hold of Gary and the service he provides is worth more than any other insurance company IMO which is why i will continue to insure through KM via Moley :thumb:
Keep up the good work matey

RS_Matt 03 October 2010 11:42 AM

Went with RAC in the end, 200 cheaper than most performance specialists.

The Grift 04 October 2010 02:16 PM

Hello, is 0208 6427868 still the correct number? From a mobile it seems dead and getting call failed, from a landline it's always engaged.

Cheers

fred388 18 November 2010 03:18 PM

well i got gary at KM, and he beat A-PLAN,SKY and many more by almost £300 with mods included, top bloke, cant wait for next years quote to be even cheaper, not sure why there is all this pish written in this sticky, your trying to do them a favour and getting this abuse, if they dont want to keep trying to get hold of u for a better quote they can go else where it no skin off your nose.
