When the RB5 was launched buyers were given the chance to upgrade the cars to the WR sport version.
For those that did this at the time of purchase does your log book register the car as a 'Subaru Impreza RB5 WR Sport AWD' or just 'Subaru Impreza RB5 AWD'. Secondly, did you receive a 'WR sport' or a 'PPP' certificate from Prodrive. I am trying to establish whether the upgrade, at new or added later on, is considered a factory fitting or a modification. This is mainly with regards to my original post in the 'Insurance' Topic (<http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/thread.asp?threadid=77494>), but also so I can try and indentify the validity of my car - a standard RB5 which has subsequently had the PPP and Prodrive rear spoiler fitted. |
As i remember when i got my company car RB5 WR it did come with this on the reg documents as it was ordered from new with the WR pack.Hope this helps.

Can't remember what it says on the log book, but has the WRSport rev counter and a specific RB5 PPP certificate from registration.

Mine came with wr sport pack from new , reg doc just says impreza turbo rb5 awd and then runs out of room on the form!!
should have a specific rb5 ppp certificate (mine has ;) ) hope this helps Duncan Edited to say don't forget that a true wr sport has "WRSport" in red on the rev counter - one with a spoiler and ppp added later in life will be / should be missing this id mark [Edited by DMB - 3/12/2002 2:45:28 PM] |
