Good restaurant in Birmingham?

I have to stay in Birmingham tomorrow on business and looking for a good restaurant to take a client to. Have tried purnells who are fully booked and have been to simpsons before. Budget not really an issue.

Any SN recommendations?

The first poster names two Michelin-starred restaurants in Birmingham. Manchester doesn't have any. I don't think a Pizza Hut or Nando's will do :o

This is a Spanish Tapas gaff, I had a great time there. The Cheese cake was the best I have ever tasted. Uncommercialised and ambience in bucket loads.

Or if you want to be in the in place try behind the Mailbox allsorts on offer with good service.

Nuthurst grange is the nicest place i have eaten in Brum..http://www.nuthurst-grange.co.uk/

Brindley place is ok if you like chain type food joints..

Has the Malmaison really got a Michelin star ??? I have eaten there and thought it was gash..

BTW.......I think Manchester does have a Michelin star Restaurant,The Juniper Tree.

Ps Fat Boy :knobhead:

Lol it was a joke - bit stressed?

My favourite restaurants in Birmingham are well out of date (and most were balti houses in Sparkhill;) ), so i wouldn't recommend any for business anyway, but hope it goes well for you. FWIW last business trip to Brum I ate in the Hotel du Vin restaurant which was nice and no one's mentioned it. Good rooms there too.

It was top notch. Infact I'd go as far to say it was the best meal I have had in quite some time. The service was great, setting was lovely, enjoyed sitting in the garden before with a glass of champers.

Will go back without any doubt.

Chop :)
