After a year break from this hobby, I decided to get back into it and do a new shell. Sprayed with flip-paint really sparkles in the sunshine, and the white sets it off a treat.

Hiya Darren is that a nitro car? Me and my missus have a savage and a t-maxx which we go out and play with :) that was til i crashed my savage, whoops!! Still havent got round to fixing it :( I will 1 day!!!

Spec is:-
1/10th touring car, Yokomo BD, obviously 4wd. After my 1 yr away from this hobby a lot had changed, mostly in the electric class which this is, so now running brushless speedo and motor, not sure if your into ur RC cars if I say the motor is a 10.5, basically its quick as my old full blown mod motor, talking 30-40mph, and brakes are mind blowing for an electric car.
The other new part is the cells, before you had to have 4-5 packs at £60 each, now on things called LiPo's, only need the one, but they are £85, as I said only one needed.

First race is this coming sunday, hope the sun comes out to play also.

Your more than welcome, its pretty hard to find the track is, its just off the A12 place called Easthorpe, way past the Marks Tye turn off, but have loads of land up there for a purpose built track costing well over £40K, if you pop on the web-site you'll see the track with loads of islands for different layouts (my design by the way:thumb:)

I've been racing for getting on for 20yrs, had a few breaks from time to time, as it does get very competitive, and thats when the cost rises.
So im all ready for a new season and looking forward to it once again.

Cheers for that Darren. I am sort of 'into' R/C cars. I have had a few from electric to £2k 1/5 scale buggies.

Thats fine no worries. Wow them 1/5th scale cars are monsters, might as well sit on it and drive to work lol, prob a dam sight faster than a lot of stuff on the roads too lol.

I'll prob get a new car soon too, mine has seen its best days now, things are starting to wear, not really worth re-newing the parts, as I fancy a X-ray 009.

I started with Tamiya R/C cars, Michelin Pilot Escort RS cossie, Mini, Subaru Impreza WRC some of which I got from Beaties store.

Don't get me wrong, battery is ok, nitro is...er...well...er its a family froum and I would rather not say, but large scale 1/5 are just fantastic models to own and drive, but you need lots of big space.

Thtas what I mean the 1/5th stuff is amazing, are they fast tho?, or like you said you need a HUGE open space to really wind them up!.

Also started off with a Tamiya, Monster Beetle for me, then off road buggies for racing on Sundays, Schumacher Cougars, Cat, Losi XX, then switched to touring cars. Still like off road racing, but on raod is so much more precise and so close too, one mistake and thats it, 1st to middle/back of the pack in a flash, makes for 5mins racing a major lesson in concentraction.

Yes, they can reach around 40-50mph speed, faster if you tune them, big exhaust, air filter, NOS, bigger piston and head etc... As for space, they will get to their top speed rather quickly, but you need the wide open space because of the size they are. A small 1/10 scale battery car is fine in a small space, up the size of the model, you need to up the size of your play area.

I want to get another as I miss the sound and smell of them and I still have my Futuba 3PK radio.

The nitros do smells good actually, nice to smell first thing on a sunday morning, wakes you up a bit lol.

Your radio gear, I have the 3VC, is your 3PK similar in that you can store think is 8 different models, any that is too.

Nitros to smell OK, when when you get used to them, they seem to loose their apeal.

Mine is basicially the model before this non 2.4 ghz model Futaba 3PK 3-Channel 2.4GHz Radio System I think you can store about 8 cars in its standard memory. Your 3VC is a stick type yes?

Nitros are too sluggish off the line, I tend to prefer the instent acceleraion of electric, and now due to brushless and LiPo its now as hassle free as nitro, charge up and go, spend more time on set-up.

Oh I see the trigger controller you have, I see some people using them up our club, the rest have the stick type, which mine is too yeah.

Large scale are even easier than that. Charge batteries in receiver and transmitter, have your fuel and oil ready mixed in a jerry can and you are away. Start on the first pull or if not second.

Nitros, from my experience are a nightmare, you always have to tweak the engine/carb for them to start. Unlike large scale.

I am thinking about going back to stick type and getting a 3VC or the SVCS.
