I know there is program that gives you options when you right click to change the permissions of the folders..

What kind of options do you want? I assume you're talking standard Windows folders permissions.

In XP you 'right click' then use the 'Sharing and Security' option. Is that what you mean ...?

Not heard of it. I just right-click->Properties->Security->Advanced->Owner

ok so that doesn't work ..

if its XP/vista you need to turn off "simple file sharing" to enable permissions
