DYK 30 August 2009 08:16 PM

Gales have been hitting the uk all year so far anyway, damn can't someone build a really big boat and tow the UK to some place with a better climate. That's it then all the nice Girls will now be putting on the winter gear, shagging season is over...:brickwall

Fabioso 31 August 2009 12:19 AM

I'm waiting for those bloody numpties that look at historical Meteorological data to come out with that classic line "The UK enjoyed average amounts of sunshine and slightly higher then average temperatures in the summer of 2009"...............I'll explode with rage I swear :p

tanyatriangles 31 August 2009 07:22 AM

Now, now, you know you're ALL wrong..........those nice media and government scientist types told us AGES ago that by 2010, Britain would have a mediterranean climate, due to global warming.:thumb:

What's that you say? You've not noticed it, in fact the weather has been worse? Well that's because global warming produced global COOLING, but please don't ask why, or certainly not how, just keep on paying those green taxes, you eco-terrorist, you;):D

Rubbing it in

It's the last day of winter for me today :luxhello:

It's hardly that bad :lol1: I calculate we have had 5-7 straight weeks of blue skies and sunshine with temps between 20-29o C oh and maybe a day of rain :p.

I went to Melbourne last week, gale force winds driving rain and about 6o C, realised I didn't need to go back to London to appreciate what I have in Sydney and couldn't wait to get back :D

Sorry ;)

And massive spiders, snakes and sharks!

I wouldn't go there for any money, I'd rather take my chances with the hoodie chavs over here than wake up with a Huntsman spider in my bed.

Funkii Munkii 31 August 2009 10:38 AM

Huntsman wont bite you and it wil actually eat the poisonous ones :thumb:

Admitedly I still lift the quilt and pillows before jumping into bed along with checking under the bog seat and shaking my shoes before putting them on :lol1:

I live near a lot of bushland and have seen 2 Huntsmen and one Redback (killed that little basterd) in 10 months and no snakes or Sharks, anyway you'll never see a shark in your pool ;)

On the plus side there are loads of V8's and Scoobs and no hoodies :D

Hysteria1983 31 August 2009 10:44 AM

There hasn't really been as summer. We did managed to have a week in south Devon where it was probably the best week of the summer.

Was shorts weather so I won't complain.

As for sumer being over, well as far as I knew we had a few weeks left.
It's a different story if the sun decides to grace us with its rays or not though!

we've had a terrific summer here in surrey - luckily we missed the worst bits of the wind / rain by going to the south of france - the time we've been here has been stunnning (just been out watering the garden again) :)

SunnySideUp 31 August 2009 10:04 PM

Well I'm like Mr Lobster now ..... a day on the beach - took till midday to clear the cloud, but then it was wall to wall blue skies :thumb:

Sea was quite warm too - had a decent swim :D

moff1888 31 August 2009 10:31 PM

For me summer is over as it's the last day of my leave.
