112.9p for V Power?? Grrr!!!

Had to have a moan. Dont think I ever have on here and I normally just get on with things but finished my early shift, been up since 3 so not in the best of moods. Get to Shell and V Power is at 112.9p!! Had a wine at the attendant while I was there who for some reason hadnt noticed that he had some kind of weirdness hanging out of his nostrils which made me hesitate when I went to give him my V Power card. Purchased a Whispa which was probably over priced aswel, moaned about that and told him to bin the receipt because I didnt want to see it and then just as I was leaving a bit of my Whispa breaks off as I open it and falls on the floor as Im getting into my car.

Not happy!

I agree, most of the cost is tax, then they have the cheek to charge road tax as well! I filled up on the m6 the other week and it was 116.9p for v-power

117.9 for V-power by me:mad: 106.9 for Tesco 99.

dunx 28 August 2009 04:48 PM

109.9 this morning.... but that means a £60 card swipe at the pump only tops my tank up, doesn't fill it !

It was 90+p a few months ago !

I'm cycling....

Tax increase!!?? I must have completely missed that. My fault for not keeping up with events. Still its just silly. Main reason being is that its happened in such a short space of time, practically every 2-3 weeks the price has gone up when I think back about it. We do need it as we wouldnt be able to enjoy our cars for what they are but I just cant see the justification in it. These petrol companies are declaring silly amounts of profits year upon year and there reasoning behind charging so much is to make sure that they are financially secure, which is understandable. But surely there must be a margin to make things easier for the consumer.

I guess we all managed to cope before when the prices were high but they cant go back up to those kinds of levels. It would just add to what is already a slow recession which some of the other countries seem to be recovering from but the UK is`nt.

I've been paying 112 for a couple of months my partner aint to happy with that, my local shell had ran out on tuesday so had to put sainsbury's super in, staying away from tesco at the moment a friend of mine was having a few probs with his car and after a week in the garage they tested the petrol to find alot of water mixed in with it, the garage said that was causing his problems he was using tesco 99

RED2 28 August 2009 06:18 PM

Put a few tanks on holiday in west wales 1.16 for v power. i'm used to paying about 1.06 for tesco's 99

Iv always stayed clear of super market petrol. Even though they probably buy it from a supplier, I just fail to see how a company thats specialises in selling milk can supply quality petrol :wonder: :)

However, each to there own as I think Iv opened up a can of worms there :thumb: :lol1:
