Camping and the great unwashed.

moff camping to north Yorkshire this weekend so i thought i would look at some forums to see what is what. This is my 3rd time. I was stunned at how many people dont wash during the weekend away

Most people seem to have a body spring clean before the leave and dont go near water till they get home...thats not right :lol1:

Depends what I'm doing.

Any of the 2 day comps, wet wipes are the "shower" becuase where the comps are there is no showers or such like (read middle of no where in the middle of some random woods).

For the euro's I actually stayed on a proper campsite so I knew I could walk into a hot shower after the days shoot. Being as they were hed in Wales, I was betting on being wet and muddy.

i just done the mlr 500 . camping in linclonshire 3 days , no wash , just baby wipes and lynx . works a treat :thumb:

So why are the queues at the shower blocks so bladdy long? :wonder:

last year i made up a flask of just boiling water and had a wash in the (i added cold too) spare pod in the tent, its ideal for washing your bits.

This year i am getting up earlier :D

EddScott 27 August 2009 08:29 PM

B&B all the way. Won't catch me in a tent. :thumb:

I plan on going to bed at that time, showering when drunk :thumb:

You mean to say that you havent got a shower in your tent..

I loved my camping trip to NewQuay, my biggest problem was the noise, you can hear everything as you are separated from noise by a thickness of nylon.

There was a wind farm nearby (not my wife, but a real one) and I swear I could hear the turbines during the night, but it may have been my watch.

I did enjoy my new massooooove air bed from costco, it blows its self up, and lets itself down when you have used it. Best bit was we all slept in separate pods as the beds where so big, so sleeping on my own was bliss.

As for washing, showered every morning/evening, powerful, hot, roomy, showers.....shorts only, flip flops and towel around the neck affair.

The block was only 200 yrds away, yet I drove twice due to monsoon season.

Camping is a laugh and a leveller......and campsite entertainment makes you appreciate TV's Family Fortunes... :)

Also putting the thing up and taking it down, is a proper strain on family relationships, how fcuckin stupid are women, you would think sliding a pole into a fold of nylon would be second nature, but no...krypton factor stuff.

Good job I was there to supervise.

I got 3 gay women to help me put our tent up, It was like a scene from Ghost :D

GlesgaKiss 27 August 2009 09:37 PM

Camping for one night, yeah! But camping away for a weekend with a girlfriend or whatever... not for me. Need to have about two showers a day. Lol

So were they rubbing each other's tits with wet clay from behind, while they were knocking in the tent pegs? :luxhello:

Bubba po 27 August 2009 09:38 PM

We're going tomorrow for two days. :)

Something like that :Suspiciou

we opened a can of beans and flicked them all night :thumb:

We are going for 2 nights, near Eden Camp Museum. My sister lives nearby so we will hook up. Where are you going?

Bubba po 27 August 2009 09:59 PM

Somewhere near Filey. :D

sarasquares 27 August 2009 10:03 PM

We will drive to the east coast, probably Scarborough or nearby. Whats it like up your way during this bank holiday? I didn't go up the same time last year but it p1ssed down all the same. :D

Are you going up in the scoob, might pass you somewhere :p

Bubba po 27 August 2009 10:07 PM

Shouldn't be too bad in the early part of Friday. If you use the A64 there are some slow bits that sometimes get clogged up. Yes, we're going up in the Scoob. A beautiful DBM classic wagon, just in case you'd forgotten. :)

I am not going up till Saturday early morning. I dont know when the bulk of traffic leaves this weekend. That reminds me, i must update the sat nav. You have a lot of speed cameras up there!

I didn't know if you had managed to have the scoob stolen this year. :D

I had a practice car packing this week and i was pleasantly surprised that it all slipped in pretty easily. I a, having to take a pregnant chihuahua with me, she only has 11 days to go. :thumb:

I will keep my eye out for it, i will be wearing my new white Pro Race 3 white wheels :p

What is that gray thing on your grill?

Bubba po 27 August 2009 10:38 PM

It's a numberplate obscuration layer. :Suspiciou

Simon C 27 August 2009 10:40 PM

There is grey blobs over your top grill and near side headlight Bubba.

sarasquares 27 August 2009 10:41 PM

I am not going to Google that

It sounds like it is something to obscure the number plate :D

Bubba po 27 August 2009 10:51 PM

I've looked at that picture on my Photobucket, I've reposted it on another site, i've refreshed, logged out and logged in again and I still don't see what you're on about.

GlesgaKiss 27 August 2009 10:54 PM

You should try your hand at photoshop: you'd clearly be a master. :D
