Which one would you choose.(warning watch related)

Dont read or post if your not interested....or you are going to reply " Its only a watch.".......AGAIN. ;)

Its more than just a watch, its a work of art...and you know it.

Breitling Bentley 6.75 big date or Breitling bentley Model T, and why?

Rear Model T.

Size comparison, lined up with my Ball Hydrocarbon Engineer, which is a huge watch but dwarfed by the Bentleys.

I must apologise for the buttybox lid, I thought it would enhance my photo's, but it obviously didnt.

The Dogs B******s 26 August 2009 09:24 PM

The one on the right, because,i think it looks better

jasey 26 August 2009 09:26 PM

Sell the one on the left and use the money to get a decent digital camera ;).

Volks 26 August 2009 09:29 PM

They`re both a bit too fussy for me but, if I had the pleasure of owning one, the big date would get the nod.

Trout 26 August 2009 09:31 PM

I like the one in the middle - Breitling is a technical brand and it 'looks' more aligned to that core technical message.

Like the Ball :D

Why can I take a picture of my cars/bike and it looks good, but my watch shots are sh1t, they are all taken with the same Nokia N96.

http://i684.photobucket.com/albums/v...3082009730.jpg

I have a decent camera, or my wife has, but they wont load to photobucket, the eggtimer runs out at 70 odd %..

Welcome back Dogs, how was Turkey......you didnt like it did you. ;)

The Dogs B******s 26 August 2009 09:36 PM

Hotel food and beer was sh*t after a week of it,but other than that it was ok,45degrees every day wasn't to bad either, cheers:thumb:

Simon 69 26 August 2009 09:38 PM

I wouldnt choose either. I realise that what is 'nice' is highly subjective and also that modern Breitlings polarise opinion like little else: but I think that theyre both vile. Had you considered selling them and putting to for a nice Patek?

Ermm...No.

Patek is the RollRoyce of watches, if I had the money I would buy neither, as I see both brands as vile, along with the majority of the people who lust for them.

Sonic' 26 August 2009 09:48 PM

Yoza, what car is that ?

It will down to the lighting when taking the pictures of the watches, what you need is a light tent from Maplins, currently on offer at 9.99 if you take lots of pics of your watches

Out of the watches, I would have the Model T with the Big Date colours

Sonic' 26 August 2009 09:49 PM

and shame on you for not having the time on each watch perfectly syncronised :D

You are of course dead right..and you know Im doing that right now, the fact that the time and date are all over the place is neither here nor there.

You may notice watches are often photographed at 10mins to 2, so as not to hide the date window at 3 or 5 oclock, and the printing at 12 and 6 o'clock.

As for " What car is that ? "....go and sit in the corner at once, or visit the tent section. :)

moneys 26 August 2009 10:04 PM

definatly the one on the right for me mate, i prefer the colour. do you sell any of your old watches on mate? oh and the skyline, is it yours is it?

Sonic' 26 August 2009 10:27 PM

LOL, I wasnt sure if it was a Skylark, its very :ccol: btw

Yes I did wonder why all watches are photographed with the same time

anyway this is what you want Portable Soft Lighting Studio : Camera Accessories : Maplin

CLSII 26 August 2009 10:29 PM

At the risk of being burned at the stake for heresy...

I think both are far too fussy for a watch, there's just too much going on.

I love the quality but prefer some simplicity, big dials included, in a device that I want me to tell me the time.

I've drooled over Breitling watches as I really appreciate the engineering of them but prefer simplicity.

That doesn't mean I'm right and you're wrong it's just my opinion.......

Think the one on the right is the best though :D

CLSII 26 August 2009 10:31 PM

No the one on the left.....aaaaaaargh they're both brilliant....:)

yoza 26 August 2009 10:34 PM

CLSII

I think you would like my Rolex SeaDweller DeepSea, non chrono, no extra buttons, big face, just the time/date.....

http://i684.photobucket.com/albums/v...n/deepsea7.jpg

The Blue lume is exquisite..

http://i684.photobucket.com/albums/v..._bdweller1.jpg

G00ner 26 August 2009 10:49 PM

I prefer the Ball to all three, with the Roley coming in a close second. :D

MattW 26 August 2009 10:52 PM

Not a fan of the Navitimer, I've got an Aeromarine myself, but the Bentley Model T is nicer, if just the face colour.

yoza 26 August 2009 10:55 PM

..........Runs upstairs to take some Ball Lume shots, now then Tritium tubes are something else, I may be a while. :D

BEFORE LUME....

AND WITH SN :D

{Legs off under the quilt..} :)

pacenote 26 August 2009 11:02 PM

Can't say I'm a fan of the Breitling's so it's the Rolex for me, alongside my ball of course ;)

Jamescsti 27 August 2009 07:48 AM

The Breitlings are far too fussy for me too, I prefer the nice simple dials of the Rolex's Yoza posted (nice editing by the way on the first one) Or my Omega Seamaster

I am a bit paranoid were serial numbers and reg numbers are concerned, I have had a watch cloned through showing off.

Registered stolen...

Complete ball ache to sort out.

+Doc+ 27 August 2009 12:44 PM

Neither tbh, far too big and fussy. Buy another Ball..

Devildog 27 August 2009 01:30 PM

Yoza,

I'm not a huge fan of either, but from me the Model T is far nicer with its more subtle bezel - almost like the turned aluminium you see on some Bently dashboards. I also prefer the black(?) face but not sure about the extra ring of numbers.

Best looking watch on this thread by far is the DS (at the time of posting)

Yes the machine turning on the bezel is supposed to emulate the turnings on a Bentleys dash....the 6.75 is the cubic capacity of the cars engine.

I like them both, but prefer the 6.75 BigDate.

Jimpreza 27 August 2009 01:39 PM

Yoza, how much have you spent on watches Mate?

Simon 69 27 August 2009 01:41 PM

Im quite impressed by the DS, despite thinking that it looked terribe when it was launched. Id still prefer it without the uneccessary script on the ring though. I dont think that Id was a Ball, but Im drawn to the tritium tubes like a moth to a flame.....

yoza 27 August 2009 01:42 PM

Reply to JIM.

In my lifetime...

Or my current stock ?

Infact, I wont answer either...my Mrs snoops around this site everynow and again.

My last purchase cost me a washing machine, thanks to informative pricing by Nat. ;)
